I thought Setanta Ireland were showing the bill live. Read it in the Star they have Steve Collins doing it. Maybe I picked it up wrong.

Ah don't say that now or I may cry :-(

I'll be happy when he stops making excuses for not fighting live bodies and stops fighting an endless queue of talentless shitheads. You can tell your boy I said that too :good

Well this guy Paulie is fighting looks to be an up and coming prospect, who is hungry and honestly i would find that a more dangerous fight than against someone who has been around the block and knows how to survive.

God BAM BAM could you possibly forward me a copy of your fight profile and see how many world class fighters you have on your record :fire

Ah I'm not allowed have an opinion on boxing unless I've fought at world level myself? Do I have to have played in the Champions League to comment on that too as well? Good man, you're making lots of sense.

Look I've given top marks for the matchmaking for Patrick and Eddie. I think Patrick is going places and this is a great stepping stone and I think Eddie is going to be involved in a lot of good domestic scraps in the future (like against O'Hara) and he will go on to have an entertaining career.

Paul Hyland has been matched against shite. Simple as that. I'm not asking for a step up to world class. I'm not looking for excuses about the 3 lads who asked for too much. Just a little lift in the quality of opponent. 16 fights in and nothing on the record worth talking about. Time to step up , thats all I'm saying.

Being on the Hyland payroll probably obscures your objectivity a bit but I doubt many people could claim Paul Hyland has been well matched and has a definitive and upward career trajectory at this stage. I'd actually like to see the lad tested. I don't see how thats a crime. Fighting lads below your standard each time out isn't exactly what I'm after in an up and coming fighter

First thing is first i am not part of the promotional outfit with the hylands, i am mearly a fan (who basically has too much time on his hands)
This guy that is fighting paulie is going to be a real threat to him, he has a winning record and he is not coming over here to lie down and be beaten. he is coming to win,
so IMO it is a good opponent for 17 days notice,

If your trying a roundabout way of saying Rob Nelson is more dangerous than Sean Hughes you're wrong (well imo). However your right than he's not a bad opponent on 2 1/2 weeks notice for a fighter like Paulie and what he needs. Nelson won't come to lie down and he will stand and fight and probably try to pressure Paulie who'll be the counter puncher in the fight.

However unfortunately for Nelson he's naturally a Super-Flyweight(he almost made Flyweight for his fight with young prospect Ashley Sexton). So not only is he outclassed he's also outsized.

Anyway for those who disagree with me and feel Paulie needs to be stepped up quicker(and I do feel he needs some type of step up which Hughes would of been perfect for), to do it on this card would of been asking a lot.

I'm sure they're paying decent-ish money to bring over Herrera, get ***an to fight Eddie, have Power-Waldron face each other and have another 4 fights on the card not including Paulie. Now I'm not saying they've spent a fortune, just enough that to get someone good in for Paulie now wouldn't really make sense. The show will sell out as it is, and next time they could have Paulie headlining(or at least up with the main event) when he's the one taking on someone decent.

But it is key to see a step up of some sort after Nelson, because another fight at that level could cause Paulie to stagnate.

    Couldnt of put it better,
I feel paulie will be stepping up big time in his next couple of fights,
so hopefully Maloney can get him a good fight or 2 before he challanges for a major title
