Atlas took it all the way to their training camp.

Isn't this the same baseless bull**** that people were spewing in regards to Chagaev?

Let's be realistic for a moment.

First of all, this isn't amateur night. Ibriganov won the silver medal, Chagaev had great success in the amateurs as well, but it is quite obvious that the amateur game didn't exactly transition very well in the pros.

Secondly, Povetkin is extremely limited. He comes in straight lines, has slow footwork, doesn't have good upper body movement, stands right in front of his opponent, lacks power, and hasn't been tested.

Not to mention he's a big target.

This is the perfect kind of opponent for Klitschko who feasts off of Margaritoesque style fighters such as Povetkin who won't win a single round and doesn't have the power to hurt Klitschko, nor the ability to get in position to effectively land on him either.

Safe fight, brilliant matchmaking, opponent with no chance.

    Exciting...

Atlas lead Moorer to a championship. Poev has a chance. But Wlad is a great boxer so we'll see what happens.

Atlas openly criticizes the Eastern Euro fighters for their 'flaws', I'm curious to see if his tune will have any change in it after the W.Klitschko - Povetkin fight.

And what does his workrate matter? If you can't even get in position to throw punches, what difference does it make how many punches he can throw?

People really seem to have limited knowledge of boxing skill, reading these posts.

Anybody can throw a lot of punches if you're accustomed to your opponent being nothing more than a walking heavybag.

I like Povetkin but he hasn't looked all that great recently and I don't expect Teddy Atlas to improve things. He deserves the shot ahead of Chambers because he defeated him but honestly I think Chambers has the better chance right now...which is not saying much!

Atlas' hate for the Klitschko's has driven him all the way to Russia for some kind of hope.

    Should be interesting!

This fight will be entertaining just to hear Atlas yelling at Povetkin in the corner. For once, I actually hope Wlad does the old taking his time jabbing routine, because all the excitement in this fight will be between the rounds.

Props to anyone who can change the words of the whole poem to be about Klitschko.

    I can hear it now:

Teddy Atlas: "Alex, I have your cell phone here and if you don't move out of the way of that jab I am going to call your son at home and tell him that daddy is getting his head bashed in by Klitschko's jab"

    Povetkin: "Huh?"

Teddy Atlas: "You have to put fear aside Alex you can't be afraid of the big obstacle in your way you have to find a way to get through it"

    Povetkin: "What?"
