I wish he would've demanded the fight with Abraham. With him gone there's no one to prove himself against. The only meaningful fight is Sturm.

He was on such a roll McKart, Zertuche, Miranda, Taylor, he was just rolling through these guys. Then he hits a wall in Hop and it seems Arum won't put him in with anyone.

second fight w/ taylor amounts to a mandatory even tho the title wasnt on the line...not much you can do when the champ you beat exercises the rematch clause right away

I don't think the Lockett fight changed Joe's mind either, but I do think it put the final nail in the coffin. Before Pavlik/Taylor II Joe was hell bent on fighting Kelly. No one expected Pavlik to score a clear UD over Jermain. After that Joe quieted down. After the Lockett fight is when he started denying calling Pav out, saying he wasn't a big enough name, and then claimed he offered KP a fight after Calzaghe/Lacy. That was the worst part. At that time KP's best win was Zuniga and he was recovering from career threatening hand surgery. Ya right Joe:patsch

I realize it's not a money fight, but I'd love to see Pavlik take David Lopez. On the other hand, maybe Lopez looks a little too much like Rubio for people's comfort.

You're a little off kilter here bro. KP's inactivity has nothing to do with Arum. Rubio was a mandatory who earned the right to be there, and a good fight to make after a loss. Since then Kelly's wife had a baby, and KP wanted the summer off.

As far as Abraham goes; think about this; Sauerland claimed he was trying to negotiate with Arum in good faith. However, as far as I know their best offer was $1 million short of what KP got for Gary freaking Lockett. Now this SMW tournament appears out of nowhere, and even though AA said he was fine at 160, and looked fine against Oral, and they said a January Pavlik date was fine with them, he's in the tournament. And who is he fighting first? A guy who lost 3 of his last 4. Check the history mate; it's always the easier softer path with these guys.

In my opinion Lopez deserves a shot at something. Last time I saw him on TV he said he would take any title shot at 54 or 60.

I understand everything is not always as it seems. Didn't know he had a kid either. He needs to get back in there though.

I don't think all this downtime after the loss is helping him in anyway. But without Abraham he'll only have Sturm. I just haven't heard any mention of AA from Arum.

Pavlik can still be a top fighter. But with no fights planned and a lack of fighters where will he be.

No disrespect intended, but holy ****, if haven't heard Arum mention Abraham you're not pay attention! He's given numerous good rants about Sauerland being an *******! But asking which BOXING PROMOTER is lying is like asking which fox should guard the hen house.

HBO low balled a Pavlik/Sturm fight, so there is **** left for KP at 160, and 168 will be really tied up with this tournament. It's got to be a tough spot for him.

LOL. I heard the name. Just no serious talks. I'm not entirely blaming the promoters but I feel Pavlik should push for this fight.

I say Arum because all of his fighters tend to say ask my promoter.

    True.:think

But, we still have P-Willy out there, and if AA's gonna move, SOMEBODY is gonna get to fight for a vacant IBF. Maybe that person will have the desire to fight Pavlik? Who knows.

What the hell is Pavlik up too anyway now? Who is he fighting next? He should just fight Paul Williams.

Long ass story...starts with contract up, NOT going to re-sign if Arum made the Mora fight, just had a baby, etc..

While I agree as a fan, the "down time" kind of sucks, but Kelly has to do what he has to do.

Hell yeah, let's get on with the Paul Williams fight!! I think it would be fireworks and (well atleast in USA) it would be a BIG fight that fans would get hyped over.:good
