    Well pacquiao can't just go in there and duke it out with all these big guys. If Cotto weight in at 147, by fight night he would be close to 160 where pac would be no more than 150. That's a lot of weight difference. If the fight gets made at 143-145, Cotto might come in around 155 where Pacquiao is still around the same weight of 150 (which is still not fair but a little more reasonable). I think this 143 thing is just to bargan on the contract. I think the fight is going to get made and it's going to be at 144 - 145. I don't really care if it's at 145 or 147, just sign the contract so we can enjoy a good fight. But with all respect to Cotto, to be fair to Pacquiao he has to come down a little bit to make the fight fair.

    That's his choice to weigh in at 142. He didn't have to cut that weight when he made 147 but he choose to for whatever reason.

    He weighed 142 because he cut weight. He didn't weigh in at 142 because thats as high as he could go.

    that's because pac has smaller frame, he can't fill in at 147 and be effective.
    as for cotto he already said that he will still be effective at 145 just a pound lower than his last weight in.

    same day weigh in thats a fair way, changing it to the night before has given guys like Paul williams who is a light heavyweight to fight at WW. I know it was done for the fighters safety but really some has got weight cutting down to an artform..Its really cheating

    then cotto should fight mosely or williams instead of entertaining the thought of fighting a smaller man.

    What do you mean fill in?

    he weighed 149 come fight time when he fought at 147.

    :patsch

    Sure its a lb lower than before. His nutritionist already said that 145 is the LOWEST he can go.

    And now Pac wants 143 ? :lol::lol:

    They want Cotto at less than 100%.

    If they're not confident they wouldn't consider this fight.

    yeah, weigh-in @147 and fight @148 while cotto weighs-in @146 and fights @160. :nut that's why a catchweight is fair here. cotto will have a 10+ lb size/weight advantage during the fight.

    and what's the big deal if this fight happens @144-145. cotto weighed in @146 for the clottey fight. he's just a damn lb or two away in making weight for this fight. he's fighting a much smaller guy here. why does he have to hold all the damn adbvantages in this fight?!
