Its hard to get it all right....its not just about the 2 fighters in the ring........boxing is also about the ref, the doctor, the promoter, the public, the broadcaster, the sanctioning body...its no wonder it dont always come together all the time :patsch

That fight was the biggest farce. I was waiting the whole night for that fight and it has to end with a punch while the fighter was down. Not a classy act, the aftermath was just as bad. Yamaguchi was pretty upset!

Dib isn't going anywhere and most of his recent fights have been strange to say the least. Got a gift decision against Marali, fought an absolute stinker against Luevano where he looked like he was partaking in a dance-off and landed about 4 effective punches over 12 rounds (and ended up with suspiciously close scoring, with one judge separating them by 2 points, another 4), and tonight just about dived on the canvas whenever Yamaguchi gave him a dirty look. Then proceded to finish the job when he was on the deck, and then the ref made a ridiculous call, then Billy pushed the Japanese fighter fairly firmly after the fight had ended in a moment that looked fitting for a handshake or a friendly word, sparking a shitstorm in the ring.

    Doesn't look good.

I have said it before and will say it again Billy Dib is the biggest pretender in the history of Aussie boxing, Yes that includes Mundine.

Mundine does a lot of talking but least he has done SOME things, Support the guy or not you cant deny the guy does have skills. Dib on the other hand is SO over hyped and overrated its laughable.

He walks around thinking he is the king of kings but when truth be told he looks nothing more then a old copy of Daniel Larusso from the Karate Kid. When is he going to step up and fight some real names THen he can walk the walk otherwise SHUT UP and just fight!

You have been given gift wins in the past and should have been DQed for this fight. Hometown win YET Again for Dib and I know people will attack me saying well thats because you hate Dib WELL until he gives me reason to say I was wrong, He is just hype.

If ONE HD wanna really do something get Geale, Katsidis, Bika, Soliman these are the names that have earned the right to fight on free to air.

I think objectively Dib is still a pretty good fighter..maybe not world class but better then just a domestic fighter.

But for the life of me I cannot understand why Golden Boy would see anything in this guy..When there are other fighters in Aus who are better and more deserving of the attention.

Great to see FTA boxing return. McCracken had a red-hot go for 7 rounds until Vea busted him to the body one time too many - good fight.

But sadly a pair of black-eyes for Aus boxing:

Withers elbow on Ammann was a shocker. Looked to be on the blindside of the ref and didn't result in the DQ that it should have. But it certainly looked intentional and needless to say bloody stupid!

Yamaguchi was crazy. But Dib was as just stupid as Withers. Clearly hit him when down and with a shot that he had to load up - wasn't even a reflex action. Should have been DQ number two for the night! Then more of this bloody ridiculous ring crowding and push-and-shove....and Dib shoves the Jap again!

Geez I hope we can do better in the next show or we mightn't even get to the 3rd one!!

They interviewed one of the commentators after the fight and one of them clearly looked pissed. I totally agree with him, that we have been waiting more than 20 years to get this stuff on free-to-air and we may have blown it with this circus.

Can't believe how much Johnny Lewis is talking this guy up. If he is the future of AU boxing then GOD HELP US.

    Dib is a ****ing pretender.

Pretty disgraceful really. Aussie boxing gets its 2ND chance to go FTA in last year or so and yet again someone has to **** it up.

Dib clearly hit him while he was down and as much as I was hoping to see the Japanese dude get iced, he got wobbled by an illegal blow.

Here I was telling my mate that Dib seemed like a nice guy, and he probably is, but why did he have to carry on with that bull**** at the end?

Ahh.. Well Ten did a good job overall, the commentating was a bit weak but it wasn't a total suprise. The production values were very decent and the McCracken/Vea fight was unreal. I really hope we get to see number 2, 3 and 4.

Hard to argue with that assessment Sam.

In particular we've got to find a way of keeping all these dickhead hangers-on out of the ring. Can't be impossible surely!

It only needed one more spark tonight in the aftermath of Dib's bout and things would have really erupted, and we were looking at having boxing on the front page of the paper for all the wrong reasons.

...and the potentially the FTA coverage jeopardized (whether there's contracts in place or not)!

Well what is clear is this the huge brawl that started between Kicketts crew and Elomars and now these tools tonight had one thing in common. Elomars camp is the same as Dibs.....and more then once have they F**KED UP AUSSIE BOXING!

About time that crew and team get there act together or simple P!SS OFF and Billy is a good man but he cant allow that **** to happen with his team.
