I heard this week, somewhere, can't remember exactly, that kessler will be getting 7 million for his participation in the tournament, the 3 first fights.

I guess that ammount is what the 4 bigger names are getting, Ward and Dirrel are probably making something closer to half that. Pretty good money for 18 months of work.

At the announcement that kessler signed with sauerland, they said he is fighting Perdomo next, which means nobody with mandatories will join the tournament. More reason to believe Bute will be left out bc of Andrade.

As there are only 6 fighters in there, and if they torney is a hit, I wouldn't be surprised if they later include Bute and another american, like Green or Pavlik.

C'mon. This is potentially the biggest thing to come in ages. Pitting some decent boxers against each other without the obstacle of parasitical agents. Every bloody boxer should have to do this: the best bit of amateur boxing is that you don't get to duck. This'll do the same: sign up and you fight, or everyone knows you're a loser.

Probably a good decision; Kessler's been keeping himself in shape and taking care of business against Perdomo should get rid of any ring rust, which is a smart move if his first fight's against a guy like Ward. I don't think the mandatory is going to set him back timewise.

Having guys like Bute, Pavlik, Dawson, and Green potentially available means there should be at least an adequate replacement ready should one of the fighters not be able to continue.

I'm not going to count chickens before they hatch, but so far, so good...

Ya -- it's great news if Kessler gets away from Palle and gets in this tourney, but 160 is as empty as an old maids dreams, and 168 is all sewn up for quite ahwile.

Pavlik is a big guy himself,he should move up anyway.

I'd like a Bute vs Pavlik.

I wouldn't like that until after a good tune-up. I know there is an Irish guy named McGee that is a southpaw. Never seen him, but something like that first would be smarter than going directly into a fight with Bute.

Modern boxing tell you you are ready to fight then you ar eready to fight.

Cuz the money might not be there anymoe.

But I agree Pavlik might need a toon-up.I don't really like how he carries the weight.

Of the 14 times Pavlik has fought near, at, or above 168, he has never been a true SMW, always a blown up middle. AND, like I've said before, McKart is the best southpaw he has fought. In 2006, coming off hand surgery and a 9 month lay off, that was a decent win, but it sure as hell ain't Lucian mutha ****in' Bute:admin

Can't really take those into comparison against poor and weak oposition.

Taylor II and Hopkins are the ones I point at.

Bute fought his first 10 at LHW and I can tell you he didn't look soft.

I believe Saurland still has an option on fighting Bute. Mads Larsen pulled out, when he had the chance. Maybe kessler will face Bute in the near future.

I'm not getting excited until I hear Palle say he has no more claim on Kessler. Yeah, he signed with Saurland but there is no mention in the front page article about Saurland obtaining the rights. We can hope, but .....
