OK, using the same logic, Void should fight Vitali or Vlad Klitschkos ASAP!

Dumb! Dela Hoya fought Hopkins at catchweight @ 158 lbs, Floyd will fight Marquez at a catchweight @ 144, and before that Pavlik fought Taylor at 166 lbs. So, what's your problem about catchweights when it is designed to level the playing field?

If you did your research before blindly hating you'd know that Manny Pacquiao has not fought at a 'catchweight' yet. He fought DLH at 147. Anyone saying that Manny should have gone above 147 is ******ed.

As for the Cotto fight the catchweight makes sense. Cotto's best weight is 147. Pac's best weight is 140. They meet in the bang in the middle at 143.5. WHAT IS MORE FAIR THAN THAT?

BUT as Pac is a warrior he's giving the advantage to Cotto. By fighting at 145 Cotto is just 2 pounds below his best weight and Pac is 5 POUNDS, 5 POUNDS ABOVE HIS.

Now tell me who is being unfair. Manny Pacquiao the P4P Number 1 in the entire world is bending to the demands of his CHALLENGER. How insane is that? Cotto should be bending over backwards to meet Pac's demand as Cotto is the challenger. You don't ask the King to bow to his peasants demands do you?

Cotto needs to beat the BEST version of PAC and that is at 140. Fighting at 147 mean an 80% Pac. Fighting at 140 means an 80% Cotto. Fighting at a Catchweight means they meet in the middle and all is fair.

Also, speak to Bernard Hopkins about catchweights. He know's a hell of alot about them.

Hopkins has his biggest victories against smaller men (Pavlik, Trinidad, DLH). Where's all the Bernard Hopkins hating?

So according to you haters Floyd Mayweather making Ricky Hatton the number 1 JWW come up 7 pounds to 147 is nothing.

But Pac making Cotto lose 2 pounds (or 1 pound as he was 146 in his last fight) while being 5 pounds above his best weight is worthy of all this hatred.

You people will take Pacquiao apart no matter what he does.

Catchweights should end. Fullstop. Pac, Cotto, JMM, PBF, Hopkins and everyone else who participates in the mutation of boxing.

Ok Mate, it's called LACK OF QUALITY OPPONENTS. Pac is a JR WW. There are no big fights at JR WW. Get rid of catchweights and you get a bloated Pac against a 100% Cotto at 147. Or you get a drained Cotto at 140.

    How is that fair?

boxers arent all the same physically. For us to get the fights that mean the most or fights that fans want to see, catchweight is the right thing to do.

Except what does the fight actually mean? Seriously?

Does it make Pacquiao a welterweight champion if he wins? No.
Does it make Pacquiao/Cotto a better fighter based on his win against the opponent alone? No.
Does it make Pacquiao a better welterweight than Cotto if Pac wins? Um....no.

Seriously, WTF does the fight actually mean anyway?

Pound for pound, they were made equal by catchweight. Responding to your question, the winner is better than loser. Yes, if Pac wins, he is better than Cotto.
