I know it sounds far out but I can see Jermain Taylor winning the tournament, His pedigree even after is losses are stella, And if he works on his stamina his inner will will be stronger, Taylor is not SHOT!!! far from it, Taylor stops AA!! 10th round, its been a good year this year won over 1200 GBP AA will be in his shell tucked up trying to fire combinations late in the round to win the judges eyes, Taylor to smart! I have always said it and I stick to it, Work Abraham Body (side near his lateral dorsi) do not go to the head, till he drops his hands---if he susses that out you punch through the guard near his wrists with the gloves pointing lateral, works every time !!! i been watching boxing for over 60 years! listening on old cat whiskers radio

I admit, I haven't seen a great deal of Dirrell.

But I feel Froch is a defeat waiting to happen. He takes far too many punches and was extremely fortunate against Taylor. I think Abraham and Kessler certainly beat him in this tournament. I've stuck my neck on the line and plumped for a Dirrell victory. Abraham, Dirrell, Kessler.

If this goes through, Showtime is the bomb. Either way, I've always said Showtime brings us the best, most competitive fights, the fights the fans want to see and they don't play games of lets preserve the fighters' 0, with the "let the chips fall where they may" attitude.

    Anyhow, I picked

Abraham win over Taylor - KO 9th rd. Taylor always finds a way to **** up a fight in the second half, and Abraham likes to capitalize on guys' mistakes.
Froch over Dirrell - Dirrell too green, not enough real power to put Froch away.
Ward over Kessler - the inactivity will hurt Kessler, Ward will outwork him and will beat him to the punch

After watching Andre Ward fight,i think kessler will knock him out.Ward ain´t that fast.
and the way he make his left hand hang down, isn´t that clever IMO.
Kessler have fought worldclass fighters and all come off short exept Joe C.
Andre ward is a good boxer, but he will be under pressure from kesslers jab,and kesslers footwork is GREAT IMO.
I think Ward is a great fighter, but i just dont see what ward do better than kessler??Watch the speed of kessler when he fought Andrade and Calzaghe...he can fight at high pace for 12 rounds.Kessler by Ko before round 10...

here are some strange people^^ especially the american fan boys. abraham will have big problems with taylor, but taylor is too shot right now, abraham will knock him out for sure, and mikkel kessler will win every fight in this tournament. a lot of people underrate kessler, even a little bit rusty, it will be enough to outclass every one in this tournament. the final will be kessler abraham and kessler will win a wide ud. froch will get knocked out by abraham and kessler, and will himself knock dirrell and ward out. the americans are not that good in this tournament, ward and direll have no real punching power, they are slick and thats all. the old taylor, who is proper trained, would outbox every one in this tournament, even kessler

Actually it makes things easier for Pavlik. As he said, he could just fight the winner when he moves up. The money wasn't working out for a fight with AA anyhow.

This has been and will be about money. No more, no less. Don't want to believe it, that is your choice.

If the JT (through the first 10 1/2 rounds against Froch) shows up he outclasses AA. Simply put AA has a lot of flaws that his prior opp. were not able to exploit-The 0 has gotta go.
Dirrell has the goods and scores a UD over Froch. Froch is a warrior, but as we saw in the JT fight, punches seem to never miss him.
Kessler late KO over Ward. Simply put Ward isn't ready for this right now. He will be a very good fighter in the future, but Kessler is the best of the bunch.

I think the fact that Froch will stand in there and eat so many punches that it will lure Dirrell into a brawl and will result in him (Dirrell) punching himself out and tiring towards the end. Dirrells defense itself is leaky and will be moreso towards the second half of the fight, where he is not too experienced in, this is where Froch will be at his strongest and will stop him IMO. To beat Froch, you have to have good legs and footwork.

Looking at it again I think it was a freak shot to the solar plexus that hurt him. He said afterwards that he was hit in the stomach.

Abraham is overrated - he is small for a middleweight and his power won't carry into 168. He also takes too many shots. I don't expect him to win anything except perhaps Taylor. Dirrell is a bit of a mystry - kinda like Froch, he wins impressive knockouts, but loses a lot of rounds leading up to that. Don't know what will happen when the magic KO punch doesn't materialize.

Taylor will outbox AA the whole fight then go into his usual mental crumble when AA applies the pressure late and get knocked out. I have to go with Kessler over Ward in the ugliest fight of the bunch. I think Dirrell has the tools to beat Froch but he needs to be ready to go 12 rounds.

It was not a 'freak' shot. It was a Calzaghe body shot. Roy ate plenty of the same punch. Although I do agree that Calzaghe bangs to the body a little harder than he does to the head.

ALL major fights are about money.

That doesn't alter the fact that the post I quoted was complete bull****.

Boo (and you) used to maintain that Pavliks management wanted to wait till AA had a bigger profile in the US so that it would be a bigger fight.

After AA had demolished Miranda, that excuse no longer held watr.

It's pretty obvious who ducked who here.

Who wanted the fight and who didn't.

Nobody's saying Pavlik was scared of AA. But his bosses were scared of another L on his record.

The facts are pretty clear here.

    It's a pity.

It would have been a megafight that could have gone either way.
