It's not on any news service yet. It's not on any of the Canadian websites yet.

    TRANSLATION

The boxer of origin montréalaise Arturo Gatti is dead. It was found without life in an apartment of Porto of Galinhas to Brazil, according to the site of information Globo.
Native of Italy, Arturo Gatti grew to Montreal North. It lived to the New Jersey during the whole length of his professional career before coming back to Montreal, after his retirement.
The local police considers the death of the pugiliste of 37 years as suspicious, and opened an investigation. The spouse of the boxer was Brazilian.

EDIT CAN ANYONE CONFIRM ANY OF THIS, IE HIS WIFE BEING BRAZILIAN??

I'm really not suprised. As entertaining as Gatti was and as much as I enjoyed his fights he obviously had some out of the ring issues.

He put his body through hell, maybe more then any fighter in recent decades. Constant, rampent abuse to his body through extremely unhealthy weight draining and of course the dozen plus wars he put himself through. Beating his wife hints at a troubled, dangerous lifestyle outside of the ring knowing how reckless the man was.

RIP Gatti. You were what the sport is all about regardless of all that.

Nobody knows for sure how he died yet, but there are bloodstains on the floor near his body.

I ****ing guarantee it has nothng to do with weight draining or allegedly hitting his wife though.

I'm saying, he lived a dangerous lifestyle. He was very obviously a reckless guy, a balls to the walls kind of guy.

Is it really that suprising he ran into dangerous people and situations outside of the ring?

Foul play is suspected. It very obviously sounds like a murder, you were the one who highlighted bloodstains around his body, that's not something that happens when someone kills themselves or dies naturally.
