ummm....donaire is well overrated in terms of resume. darch is still top 10 to me, he loses against a sturdy champ in a higher weight and he's 'done'???? donaire's last win meant jack ****, not enough to put him in the top 10. adamek is far more accomplished and dominant. nonito has one win that means anythinhg TWO YEARS AGO, and vic has done much more since then.

 

nonito performed better than agbeko...p4p also considers overall ability..

finally, PW would enter...

 

Paul Williams is much more deserving than Donaire.

Great ability yes but you HAVE to have the resume to match. Hence why Linares is ****-poor considering his skillset.

darchinyan is still in the top 10 for me. A close points decision against a belt-holder does not mean 'exposed', just like Mijares wasn't 'exposed' when Darchinyan beat him.

Look back in history? Was Saad 'exposed' when Qawi outhustled and stopped him? Was George Foreman 'exposed' when Ali stopped him? Was Carlos Zarate 'exposed' when Gomez totally annihilated him.

Was Gomez exposed when Sal Sanchez beat him up?



A loss to another fighter, great or decent, is not the final nail in the coffin for a so-called 'Elite' fighter. How Darchinyan bounced back from the devestating loss to Donaire but can't against Agbeko is ****in' ridiculous!

Donaire on the other hand, promotional disputes or whatnot, has fought NO ONE of note since the Darchinyan win.

He is in my top 20 P4P, but no higher til he fights someone good, i.e Munoz, Mijares, Hell, even Arce would be a step up for Donaire at this point.

 

I dont think he should be in the p4p list anyway. Definitely a talented fighter and one I like a lot. But p4p, not yet. The Vic loss has no bearing on Donaires position.

 

P4P also means the better all around boxer... Nonito Donaire has that rare combination of excellent boxing skills, great speed, good timing, good accuracy and decent power... Donaire deserves to be in the top 10 P4P list until he loses a fight...

Darchinyan latest defeat showed that he's mainly on the power department... His boxing skills ( does he has some? ) can't propel him to victory when dealing boxers with same strength and power...

Talking about being exposed, I think the blueprint of defeating Darchinyan is already been laid out...

- first, you must not be intimidated by some raging bullshits
- you must have speed and decent power then capitalize on it
- train for an almost perfect counter left hook
- fire those quick straight right hands and lead rights (for orthodox boxers)
- etc.

Yeah. Easier said than done when you've got someone with Darchinyan's power in front of you.

You also forgot 'have a pretty decent beard or be a defensive wizard' as Darchinyan has changed his game up a lot since the Donaire loss. If he recovers from Agbeko well I think he would stop Donaire in a rematch, his shots are more unpredictable now and his defence has improved. If Donaire is that great why doesn't he jump up and challenge Agbeko, I tell you why because he would get stopped.

 

He will eventually challenge these guys in the bantamweight division. Just let him finish his business in the superfly division. Agbeko suits Donaire's style. He is very beatable. You need more than power to beat this guy and Donaire has the tools to beat him.

I'm still picking Donaire to KO Darchinyan again if they have a rematch... Regarding Donaire-Agbeko, that's too early a fight but I pick Donaire to defeat Agbeko...

Donaire will have his 1st 115 lbs. fight in years on August 15, an interim title fight against Panama's Rafael "El Torito" Concepcion... After this, IMO Donaire will have a regular title fight at 115 (maybe against Darchi?) then jump one more division to bantam for his 3rd division title... That's the most desirable path for Donaire in my opinion... No need to rush to bantam not unless his weight will become a problem...

You know what, your logic would have made sense if Darchinyan was beaten by a 115 fighter, or by a flyweight.

But he was stepping up in weight.atsch

 

What Donaire SHOULD do is fight Munoz at super-fly. That is the litmus test for him IMO, as he still hasn't really been hit back from what I can see.


Darch should fight Montiel and Hasegawa should fight Agbeko. Winner of Darch-Montiel fights winner of Hasegawa-Agbeko (IMO hasegawa) and the winner of that fights Donaire.

I think Donaire WILL beat Munoz to be honest, I like him. I just feel the Filipino fans are hyping him up WAY too much considering his shallow resume. He MAY be an ATG, but he isn't yet, he isn't even a top P4Per yet, definitely not based on the win over that prospect (Martinez was it, or something like that) which was definitely a good performance though.





Hasegawa on the other hand is terrific, and will defeat Donaire IMO. HE is banging on the top 10 P4P door.
