I'm sorry but I don't agree. Pac at this stage of his career should pick the best money fights available because he has about a couple more fights before he retires. He has to strike while the iron is hot. If he can fight Cotto, Floyd, and perhaps Marquez, then he can retire.

Assuming that they agree at 143, it is still a WW fight, right? :deal

CATCHWEIGHTS SHOULD BE OUTLAWED . its a way for a coach and his fighter to have A ADVANTAGE over his opponent. if your too small for that weight then go down too your natural weight and fight there......its not there fault that you come from the land of 106 pounders put up OR SHUT UP MY BALUT EATING FREIND.........

No such thing as 147 title. As long as it is sanctioned by the world boxing body and it is within the weight range of 141 to 147, it is considered a welterweight title fight. What is a contracted weight anyway when boxers are allowed to rehydrate to any weight they want? Cotto is not prevented from bulking up to 160, right? You did the right thing of writing the boxing body but until they prohibit fighting in catchweights, this fight is a legitimate tile fight.

But if they agree to fight at a certain weight, can you do anything about it? It's a give and take thing. It levels the playing field. It's up to the boxes themselves, not us plain kibitzers. Balut makes my knees sturdy fit for a ****ing night.

I wish everyone would shut the **** up about weight, or at least cool it.

Fighters should always try to reach an agreement that favors them, and as far as I'm concerned, a difference of a ham sandwich is their business.

    Nope.

It's a catchweight taking place below the WW limit.

Jr WWs fight at 142 for non title fights. I guess they are now WWs?

Welter Weight is between 141-147. 147 is the weight LIMIT. Anywhere below 147 and above 141 is a genuine WW fight.

ONLY if you can weigh in from that range of 141-147.

141-145 is not the WW limit.
