"Hatton's record simply isn't Hall Of Fame worthy. For starters, his list of accomplishments is thin Forcing Kostya Tszyu to quit on his stool rates as the high point of Hatton's career. But Hitman's other biggest wins came against guys who were either faded (Catillo, Phillips) or nothing special to begin with (Urango, Collazo, Malingnaggi, Lazcano). Hatton won two alphabet crowns, but just one championship recognised by The Ring.

More importantly in his two superfights he was knocked out conclusively by Mayweather and Pacquiao. Against the latter, Hatton wasn't even in the fight."

    Thoughts?

Hatton's record isn't HOF worthy - but he will get in due to his popularity I believe.

Pretty harsh on some of his opponents though aren't they.

It depends who is in the hall of fame. If the hall of fame consisted of just stellar guys like Ali, Robinson and Pep then no he doesnt deserve to be in there but if the hall of fame has Bruno, Cooper and Mcguigan then i suppose he does deserve to be there ..
Im not entirely sure the names of everybody who is in the hall of fame, i know Mcguigan is in there and on that basis i'd say Ricky deserves to be there ..

I think the Ring/ GBP connection is overstated by people looking for conspiracy theories. I don't get the mag regulary these days but I think they've done a decent job of avoiding conflicts of interest.

I agree with all that. Yep, a they were a bit harsh on the opponents and when was "only" winning one Ring title the sign of a poor fighter?

I think they've made a bit of a **** up there. I can't believe they're referring to the actual Ring belt; they must be talking about a Ring recognized belt.

I know The Ring don't recognize the WBO, but they do recognize the IBF and WBA (both of which Hatton won); unless they had some kinda beef with Hatton fighting Colazzo for the WBA WW title, I dunno.....jumping up a weight to fight for the title then going immediately back down. Doesn't really make sense.

Well I think many forget it is a Hall of Fame not a Hall of Greatness.

It is a commercial business, that needs people to show up there, so it will quite rightly pick the most famous fighters.

Hatton was a top draw throughout his career, he is clearly Hall of Fame material.

You have to retire for five years (Tommy fought in 2006), and what is worse, he gave an interview (from this site), stating a need to return at 175lbs, aged 51:scaredas:
