I'm not avatar betting, but I did suggest doing an avatar bet for the Hall vs Small fight - very split opinion!
No doubt he'll be faster, but on the inside and at mid-range Kotelnik's timing and accuracy are better. Khan has to wage this fight from the outside, which he could do for quite a few rounds. But I have to feel that Kotelnik will find his range later on when Khan starts to tire. Khan isnt like Mayweather or Guzman, someone who can can take little breaks on the ropes, pivoting and moving his head about to avoid punches. Its gonna be impossible for him to stay on the outside without getting pinned. That is unless someone can see Khan taking centre ring for large portions:think I can't see it, not at this new weight and not with his "new" style.
I agree with your points, Khan will have to deal with these issues, thats why this fight will answer alot of questions about Khan. This fight should test Khan in all areas, but I still think he will pass this test.
I know this might sound like sour grapes from a Hatton fan (its not honestly!!) but I'm getting tired of very utterrance of Roaches being taken as the God given truth.
The Daily Mirror today had Roach picking Hatton and Morales as great fights for Khan to take after "beating" Kotelnik, and then he says that he would never have put him in with Prescott. Yes thats right, Prescott the 9/1 underdog. Says it all really. Maybe Warren has brainwashed the Doctor.
****ing hell. As I said in another thread if Khan-Morales is made, I would have the same feelings as the Mexicans who never forgave Oscar for feasting on an old Chavez.
Its not so much the hand speed kotelnik will have problem with but the footspeed. Although khan does go in and out in straight lines which isnt good. Kotelnik for all his solid fundamentals is an average speed fighter at the world level. From this fight i would like to see an improvement in the following areas in Amir. Reflexes, Reaction times and agility. With his speed he should never be pinned against the ropes or catch too many shots. One thing i can say about kotelnik after watching a few of his fights recently is that he is a tough mofo. The maidana fight showed that, the guy was actually exchanging shots with a guy whos record was 25 (24 ko) - 0 and never looked remotely hurt. In other words khans power needs to substantially increase if he is to stop kotelnik even through accumulation. Im picking khan by UD with perhaps some scary moments for amir along the way. But i still cant rule out a tko win for kotelnik just because he will be there all night waiting for his chance to land shots on amir chin.
