just short of great. all the skills from his amateur career, just couldn't put it together when the headgear came off. best american amateur of all time but as a pro, far short of his potential
Those episodes of Miami Vice he was in were Classic. Amateur ATG status is 100%. But just short of it as a pro, That said he was defo special & potential was unlimited. (But for whatever reason, He didn't live up to all the high expectations)
amateur Legend....... Decent professional champion , but was expected to do so much more upon his turning pro after those amazing 1984 games in LA.. He knows boxing like a natural and managed Dominick Guinn for a very good long run..
Very good fighter, he gets a bad press simply because so much was expected of him after his amateur career but at the end of the day he won a legit world title and made several defences so he was no mug.
:gooddamn straight rico. his knockout to aaron davis was a combination of exhaustion and shitty chin...absolutely brutal. good trainer though
