I think you are confused, Cotto can come at any weight he wants after rehydrating, but during the official weigh in, it should be the contracted weight or the weight agreed upon. Cotto may come 170 or 200, if he wants but he should come at weigh in at 145 or whatever is the contracted weight.

Well, I thought you are an authority in this business. :huh

You obviously feel no passion about whatever it is you do for a living. I love this sport, and I prefer to think farther in the future than next month. Therefore I believe I have an obligation to try and leave this sport better than it was when I got here.

and enough with the emoticons. what are you in 9th grade or something?

you are missing the whole point of the discussion. The issue is mandating a contracted weight that is below the proscribed weight limits of the division, and still having the title on the line.

stay on topic, or move on...........

:lol: You're just mad you were exposed.

Remember calling me the liar for saying Floyd weighs less than pac.

Then when I prove it.. you admit it and act like its nothing.

Then afterwards you go into other threads making bull**** claims.

    :rofl:rofl

Silly little *******s get off his nuts and open your eyes to boxing.

Again, for nth time, I said 145 is a contracted weight or what is agreed upon in the contract. This the weight during official weigh in. I've kept on repeating this but it doesn't register in your empty cranium. A guy who claims to be caretaker of this sport and who doesn't know what a contracted weigh is must be an impostor. Yes, we are in the internet, anything that is said should be taken w/ a grain of salt.

The bottom line is that catchweights of all kinds are detrimental to boxing.

wrong again one punch. when you use this statement, you imply that the catcweight is below the limits (plural), since this is a range, your statement deliberately tries to confuse the reader.

at 145 lbs being the contracted weight, that is within the proscribed weight limits of the division.

for your statement to be grammatically correct, the contracted weight would have be be 140 or below. since at 140lbs, this contracted weight would be below the proscribed weight limits of the division. 141-147.

look idiot, EVERY fight has a contracted weight on the contract, whether its a title fight or not. The entire point of this thread is that pac should not have the right (IN A TITLE FIGHT) to mandate a weight limit lower than the official weight limit of that division. Are you ****ing ******ed or something that you cant understand that?

This thread is quite amusing actually, as there are people who are on the same side but take variating stances on that side (ie - people who simply dislike Pac's catchweight fight for their own reasons, and people who hate catchweights fullstop).

Based on what you posted and your comment that you could be wrong, there is no such thing as prescribed weight for title fight. As long as the contracted weight is within the prescribed weight range, it can be a title fight. I have been consistent on this since my first post.
