I know some guys on here Box, some pro Boxers even post here. But some like me have never even 'Boxed' per se.. Have never got into the ring with a pair of gloves. I would genuinely love to do so, but due medical reasons don't think I could ever attain the level of fitness required to competitively fight.. possibly at a local level.. who knows. However I have practiced various martial arts over the years and taken part in fighting competitions and although Boxing and say Karate or TaeKwonDo are quite different, many over arching principles remain the same such as how you approach the fight, your movement around the ring etc. If YOU were/are a fighter, what would be/is your fighting style? From my experience of the few taekwondo tournaments I've been in, I usually start off cautious.. trying to catch the opponent then move back out.. then as my stamina reduces (very quickly lol) I end up becoming much more static and just try to trade blows as best I can. I try to use any speed advantage early on but basically end up basically brawling to get any points possible.
I am about to sign on to take part in a charity boxing match. will start a thread on it when confirmed. Im planning on being a slick counter puncher lol
i have done some street boxing, and mostly i'm successful if i brawl, if i get cute and decide to do the **** off the tv, i usually get clocked a few times....but this only on the "streets"
I'm a long armed banger who has a tendency to give up my big reach in order to get to the inside and mixed it up. I'm like Chico, but with even better punch resistance:smooch
I'm kind of like Mike Tyson crossed with Cassius Clay, but better and 7ft tall. I'd probably be the best boxer of all time if I could be bothered.
Havent had any type of fight in ages but I would like to think I would be a southpaw banger. I have the right jab left cross down to a tee
Knowing my experience of fights ive had in the past, I have a head like an absolute rock but I never throw any punches back!!! (Just stand there getting hit, and generally inviting more punches until the guy either walks away or someone jumps in!!)..... So I'd have to fight a rope a dope style and hope the guy tired himself out to a point where he just falls over, or the ref will jump in within 20 seconds of round one due to the flurry of punches at my head!!!
i would probably be a long range fighter, who likes to jab a lot and mix in looping hooks, almost kessler like lol.
Me and my mates quite often have a "spar" so to speak and I make Antonio Margarito look like Willie Pep, not so good when I make Amir Khan look like Jake La Motta though.
Probably a style like Edward Rackly my balance is next to none :yep http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9IuUXdanXA
I use my jab to stay way out of trouble and right hook to the body if I do get involved. High guard and pretty decent footwork for my size (6ft4 and 14 1/2 st). Very little power with my right hand but decent left hook and jab but also quite chinny tbh
