Is there anyone who is not for the Super-Middle tourney?

It might actually pressure HBO to be a little creative, reasonable with the product they sell to boxing fans and come up with a project of their own...

Both of them will beat Froch so you don't have to worry about them losing too often.

True but this is no different to say the J.Diaz vs Malignaggi fight were both are trying to ressurect their careers!!!

If for instance Froch Vs Abraham become a dead rubber...it'll sure be a better fight than fighting Zuniga to build up their confidence.

A lot of people will say a knockout tournamnet would've been better, but ther's no way you'd have got all of these 6 fighters to participate!! The fact that they can have an off night and still win the tournament is what's appealing to them!!!

 

Anyone know if this is being broadcast anywhere? Internet/TV/whatever...

Not true. They made a lot of effort to bring quality. Berto-Collazo, JMM-Diaz, Cotto-Clottey and Maidana-Ortiz were wars, great memorable battles. Pac-Hatton, Kirkland-Julio and Mosley-Margarito were supposed to be wars, but this is boxing and these turned out to be one-sided.

HBO turned down disgusting **** like Cotto-Jennings, Pavlik-Rubio and Pavlik-Mora and looked for quality match-ups like John-Juarez and Kirkland-Dzinziruk instead. Cancellations (John-Juarez rematch, Wlad-Haye, Kirkland behind bars) weren't HBO's fault. So they had a pretty fan-friendly schedule. Their mistake was placing mistmatches like Berto-Urango, Dawson-Tarver and this **** called Mayweather-Marquez, a very absurd circus act that made HBO run out of budget, therefore having to pass fights like Hopkins-Adamek.

But still, it's only July, Cotto-Pac is ahead of us and I'm sure HBO will offer some quality now that rival Showtime is delivering the best thing in boxing of the past decade. Strong competition is very good for television audience, because it makes rival networks work hard to keep the viewers, and producing quality is the only way.

This tourney could do magic for boxing.

 

Everyone who is against it is paid by Don Arum and the infamous YNPC (Youngstown Nuthugging & Promotion Club).

Several fighters were on the list who got asked, and they DECLINED. That's why they aren't in. Pusslik AFAIK was on the list and "had better plans", Sturm at a catchweight of 159.75, Wright at a catchweight of 185, Mayweather at 205, and so on.

 

I'm totally against this tourney.
As a boxing fan, i'm not used to see the best fight the best in the same weight class. I'm also used to see matchup failure because of contractual issues.

This will get me out of my confort zone. May have a heart attack.

Bute wasn't invited or considered and here's why to me....

It's not Europe against the US but if you look at it from a ''SHOWTIME perspective'', they did make the tournament with in mind to market 3 boxers with good credentials and a drawing potential from the US as well as the best available European guys at 168.

Bute is fighting out of Canada, Andrade is a notch under Taylor, Dirrell and Ward talent wise and other guys like Bika, Balszay etc., are not American and not the top 3 available Euros.....

It's as simple as that !!

We're never going to find out, but maybe the language was the main problem. The Americans and Froch obviously speak English, Kessler's speaks it very well (his momma is from the UK) and Abraham is most likely learning the language (and he's part of the tourney regardless of language difficulties as his promoter came up with the tourney idea :yep).
