Awesome stuff!! Anyone remember Don King's MW unification tourney back around 2000/2001? That was B-Hop's big break, when he beat Tito to become undisputed MW champ. Go Kessler!!
I wouldn't be counting Ward out as the winner. He's just starting to come into his own. Good speed, power & skills. I do believe though Kessler has earn't the right to be favourite to take it out.
Agree on Ward. He's been progressed along at just the right pace IMO and is probably ready to bloom in the top bracket. Huge test for him, but may prove to be the success story of the series.
I wouldnt count Dirrell out either he is a huge Super Middleweight & has the physical attributes to beat all. I would back Kessler to win it at this stage tho....Jermain Taylor has no hope IMO.
This series is going to rely surely on some co-operation between the various organisations - what chance that happening? Assuming it does get the go ahead from the organisations, and I'm guessing that the various titles would be basically frozen while all this takes place, it leaves fringe dwellers like Mundine, and others, out in the cold for some time. ...or perhaps titles would change hands along the way?? How otherwise are the organisations going to be kept happy while all this takes place?
I agree go Kessler. If Mundine vacates the IBO belt, moves up in weight to avoid a rematch Lucian Bute?
Was thinkng the same thing, perfect time for mundine to move up to SMW and tell everyone that Kessler etc all ducked him by taking part in this tourny. Bika would have been a great inclusion. He would not of beaten all of the fighters, but he would have had at least 50/50 chance in most of the fights - plus i'd reckon whoever fought him would probably lose their next fight....
Mundine imo would lose to all six fighters in this tournament at this stage in his career. Even if he had been offered the chance to fight in this there is no way in the world that he would have agreed. He has just gone life and death with an unproven soft punching prospect at 160. Mundine would have been KTFO at some stage of this 168 tournament imo.
Dont agree....Kess KTFO of Green, Beyer, Lucas, Sacia, Thysse, Sartisin and Hausser.....but failed to get close to KO'ing Mundine.
I really wanted Mundine to get his "chance" - So that someone would shut him the **** up. I'm usually not one to hope that boxers are knocked out, because I respect what they do and the sacrifices they make to pursue this very demanding and costly career, but I very much dislike Mundine and would delight in seeing him put on the canvas... Again.
Yeah and I am sure you ran to your closet and cried each time he won his 3 world titles :rofl I dont know how you didnt kill yourself after Mundine punched **** out of you boy Green
