Pavlik blasts SM tournament

Pavlik can't even get on HBO without the PPV tag. And that's not because he's a big draw.

 

I guess we all know what his priorities are now...

Pavlik is blowing hot air. He would get beaten by all in the tourney , more than likely.

He is as overrated as Jermaine Taylor is.

 

He sounds like a ***** to me.

 

HA! thats just what i was thinking myself, i know boxing is a pro sport where at the end of the day people wana get paid, but if pavlik wants to be a great, then would he rather be fighting kessler, abraham and froch or duddy (and im irish) and mora?!

the economic situation means the tv money isnt ther to be thrown around anymore so people need to go looking for big fights rather than waiting for them to come to them


as well regarding the money, pavlik says no-one watches showtime (possibly burning his bridges there) but they willl for this tournament. he says intially he would have been interested but only found out the format in the last week, something the other guys probably knew about 1/2 months ago- translation nobody wanted him in the first place. he fought on one of bob arums ppv cons couple month ago and hbo are offering a figure he cant fight for but they are the biggest network? pavliks standing after being shown up by hopkins is way way down and he needs the big fights

If that doesn't mean he was ducking Abraham because it wasn't "worth" it ruining his career with another loss, than what does. "Give me Duddy for $6m, then we're talking!"

 

:good Pavlik obviously doesn't care about cementing a legacy, just increasing the size of his bank balance.

Ironically, this tournament has the potential to change the way big fights are made and if Pavlik doesn't want a piece of it and would rather feed of the small fry in the MW division then in the long run he will lose out.

 

That statement cemented the joke status for Pavlik. I actually liked Pavlik, but this tis just bullsh**.

 

He has to know that he won't be getting fans with what he's saying right? And he has to know that having fans is what makes you deserve big pay days? Right?

Didn't HBOs "offer" of 2 mio total purse for both Pavlik and Sturm if they fight tell him anything ? I translate it for him: "We wanted you to fight Abraham in a big PPV megafight, and you tried to sell us Mora! F*ck off, and never bother to knock on our door ever again, unless you are the guy delivering our KFC order."
