Lets look at Ward....who has he being KTFO of that matters?

Ruben Williams was his best KO win in 2008.....Ruben had a draw with Antwon Echoles in 2007

Mundine fought Echoles in 2004 in his prime....Mundine won easy on points.....Echoles is passed his best and has been for some years now.

Ward wont KO Mundine if Kess failed to do so. :deal

This will do a lot for the SMW division.

I think the thing that makes this such a good prospect, is no fighter is head and shoulders above, nor is one a class below.

Another dimension is a couple of relatively young fighters prepared to have a crack at the big time! The guys who are a bit special will really step up in such situations.

    Good news all round.

Oh and what makes you think Dirrell will KO Mundine?

Who is it that Dirrell has beaten of any note?

I can keep going...Taylor who has he KO'ed in the last 7 years R Marquez....he is a 154 fighter at best.

Taylor would out box Mundine and win but not KO.

You are correct that Mundine would not be KTFO by all 6 fighters because of the way he fights but i would heavily favour all 6 to beat Mundine. You also need to consider that it would be a 34 yr old past his best Mundine who hasn't fought anyone anywhere near as good as these 6 fighters since he fought Kessler and that was how many years ago now. Apart from Geale Mundine has been fighting bums for about 3 yrs now. I could imagine Mundine fighting very scared/timid against most of these fighters. If Mundine actually fought these guys with a positive mindset and came to win he would definately lose some of these fight's by KO without a doubt.

  6. What a great oppurtunity to create some legends/buzz/form in the supermiddle weight category aswell as start a new concept that could give boxing a fresh new approach to creating champions.

THat is if it works! Kessler all the way

Excuses excuses...what will people say next....I had a sore back (Kessler)....I was weight drained (Green)...his tape kept coming off (Geale)....I got shot (Echoles)....if it was a problem the doctors would have never let him fight

Everybody's got an excuse of why they got beaten by Mundine....join the queue :rofl

Doubt it. Even if he had, I seriously doubt if he would have accepted an invite. Why...

Mundine will be 35 before the series is completed, and probably wouldn't have greatly troubled any of the other contestants. Where would that have placed him in 12 months time...

...with a string of losses...no titles...and probably Soliman IV to look forward to.

(there's always the Green retirement package - but Green will be 37+ by then and Geale will have moved up/on by then as well)

Can't actually see much on the horizon for Mundine - certainly no world dominance in the short to medium term.

You have your opinion Ash, I have mine. Mine is just not clouded by Mandyism ( ha ha )Ward & Dirrell would both pressure mandy & he would crack under the pressure. Mandy has slowed down with footwork over the last couple of years. I'm still of the belief Geale beat him but has no pop in his punches. Please don't keep throwing the gunshot victim Echols at me. Mandy did more laps of the ring that night than phar lap did in his career. I thought Echols fought well considering he just had a bullet removed.

I agree Francis - mandy would run scared but I don't think he has the legs he used to & at sometime he would have to stand & trade. The Geale fight showed this. If this happens with any of the 6 in the 168lb comp its goodnight irene.

Took a while for you to fire back mate

As for Dirrell and Ward....just who have they beaten?...why do you think they are so good?

    the beaver Guest

Carl Froch loses 8 out of 10 fights to Mundine, the bloke is slow and terrible. The only 2 times he wins are with KO's.

But as someone said before, Mundine wld fight Froch with the intention not to get sloppy and trade, therefore i don't see a KO.

Kessler and AA beat Mundine on points and probably KO him
Taylor a close fight maybe a 50/50 on points
Dirrell Wld beat Mundine on points
Ward - Don't know much about.

Ash, Ward manhandled miranda last time around & made him look ordinary. Thats good enough for me. Do you honestly think mandy would handle Miranda when he really struggled with Geale. And Dirrell, don't know much on him that he's fast & got good movement & decent power but I couldn't leave him out of the 6 to KO mandy ( ha ha). Of all of them he'd probably win a dec.

Beaver - come on mate 50/50 with taylor & Froch would savagely KO mandy.

I bet you said the same when Mundine fought Green......Mundine steps it up enough to win :D
