it would seem big ears that cristobal cruz read what you wrote about him and used it as his main motivational tool to retain his belt last night!:thumbsup

in all seriousness though, this means he can hang onto it for another 9 months with defending against one lesser opponent and maybe a non title fight, giving the hyland boy and martin lindsay a chance for a big domestic eliminator? jumping the gun slightly but hey

With Cruz holding onto his title, it actually goes to show that anything can happen in boxing so i wouldnt rule out anything in the sport........
Every boxer is beatable.....every boxer can step up thier game.....

Ya, I'm gonna have to eat humble pie on that I got it way wrong. I'd be eager to see the fight, I rated Solis as a very good fighter(at Featherweight, not quite as much at 130).

I suppose Cruz's win over Salido should have goten me to give him more respect, Salido despite his record is a top top fighter and Cruz got the better of him.

I'm glad that Martin Lindsay and Patrick Hyland's potential title challenges stay alive though, and if either were to beat Cruz now they couldn't be accused of beating a weak World Champion.

couldnt have put it better myself

Lads all this talk of paddy hyland stems from a quote that was taken out of context.

zero chance of this happening within a year unless Paddy steps his competition

Id put alot more stock in Lindsay getting a title shot seeing as hes actually ranked by the IBF currently

Looking at boxrec and Fitzgerald is matched against a guy with a 1-1-1 record and i have no problem with that but i see its matched over 6x2 minute rounds.I know this is a type of distance that is done across the water but i think its rubbish,If a boxer cannot do a 3 minute round he should not be in a professional ring.12 minutes of boxing should be over 4 rounds with 3 one minute breaks not 5 minutes breaks. Is there any reason why this is being done?
Also any other matches made yet?
    Sorry for the rant.

Sad that Micky and Arturo's lives went in two opposite directions. Seems bitter sweet, but you can follow the making of the "The Fighter" here:
