“I tell people that Klitschko is one of the greatest heavyweights of all time,” he said, fully aware that such a statement takes many by surprise. “They laugh at me and say, ‘What?’ I say, ‘Yeah, I rank him up there with the Alis and the Foremans.’ Why? He’s had 57 fights and is the reigning heavyweight champion even though he doesn’t have a great chin. How in the world do you dominate the heavyweight division with no chin? Do you know how good you have to be to do that?

“The last fight with (Ruslan) Chagaev is as close to perfect as you can get. He kept the No. 3-ranked heavyweight from landing a clean shot the entire fight.”

    .....These trainers.....

I remember when Ring contributor Buddy McGirt vaulted De La Hoya from the top 20 to #3 P4P just because he got a split decision against Mayweather.

According to Richardson, Wlad is even better because he has no chin. In my eyes having a good chin is a quality that makes a fighter better, not worse.

#3 ranked heavyweight in an era of crappy heavyweights. Chageav would be ranked 300 in any other era.

This statement shows how much Wlad haters are out of touch with reality. In what era would Chagaev be no. 300?

Chagaev is clearly a better fighter than the Jerry Quarry/Jimmy Ellis -level contenders of the past.

You cant say that ! Perhaps he is going to be ONE of the greatest one day
But people will never say he is the best or an exciting heavyweight at all!
His brother has a better chance to be called greatest champion cause he fought the real battles!(even his brothers battles)

You're missing the point, Buddy. He's clearly talking about his talent despite his apparent lack of "chin". It's like saying that Ray Charles wasn't a good pianist beause he would have been better if he wasn't blind.

no, its like saying that Ray Charles was a good pianist because he was blind.

Why does Naz rate Wlad only on talent? He should into account all factors, not just a couple of them.

Henceforth: Wlad has proven his boxing ability by DOMINATING despite a lack of chin. Good to see we're on the same page, try and keep up.

"How in the world do you dominate the heavyweight division with no chin? Do you know how good you have to be to do that? "

2 fighters dominate a division equally, one has a chin and the other one doesn't, who is better? neither. Having a good chin is part of being a good fighter. Having a bad chin and being equally dominant does not make you a better fighter, which is what Naz is insinuating here. It might make you better in certain aspects of the sport, but not overall.

    Hope you understand.

I don't think Wlad get's enough credit. It's not his fault that the HW Division is shitty - just like Jones Jr. shouldn't be at fault that when he was whoopin ass in the LHW - it was shitty too. Wlad fights everyone and beats everyone - we know he has no chin and he still wins. What more do you have to do if you're fighting the best guys in your division and winning? It's not like he can move up or down. Who's left for him to fight? Up and comers - guys moving up from different weight classes - he's not going to fight his brother - and he's fought everyone else and beat them. As far as his era of boxing - he would be ranked highly.

When did we find out that Jones Jr. didn't have a chin? He spent years as Mr. Untouchable and dominated - very similar to what Wlad is doing. As soon as Mr. Untouchable aka Superman was touched - he was down. Wlad has no chin - but his skillset keeps him from being hit on it. Roy was praise for dominating - with no chin - but Wlad isn't. There's some double standards for you ass.
