fedor has'nt fought competition close to coutures. The guys fedor beats have been chewed up and spit out by couture or beat by the guys couture beat. sylvia couture won who beat arloski big nog got smoked by mir who has been stopped 4 times. fedor better get to the ufc if he wants to prove himself.

Well guys, it looks like you might have run off a poster. He wasn't antagonizing, he may have become a knowledgeable fan.

Thank you, I tried to say the same thing.

There is a time to be an *******, a rather simple question in good faith is not one of them.

He was ignorant, not stupid; there is a big difference.

You're question wasn't dumb. In fact, if you're new to MMA, it's a perfectly reasonable question.
For people who have followed the sport for awhile the answer seems to be a no brainer, hence the smart ass answers. I think people get jaded on message boards because there are so many trolls and idiots looking to cause trouble, and they assume they worst when a newbie asks a question.
    Our bad.

That's like saying w/e Royce did in early UFC is bull**** cause he got beat by Matt Hughes so easily. You can't throw away the wins because those were different times.

He has had great competition through his career. He beat best of the crop in pride with few circus exceptions. He beat those circus exceptions with a lot of respect in timely matter as a champion of his caliber should.

You can't discredit Fedors win over Arlovski because he was widely thought to be #2 HW in the world at the time he fought him ONLY because he got beat by Rogers in such brutal manner MONTHS later. The same way you can't discredit Gonzagas win over crocop because CC was a top10 at the time they fought.

On the other hand if Crocop gets beat by dos Santos in their fight, it's not a HUGE win for dos Santos because CC is no longer top10. At least not as big as if it would have been if it was him and not Gonzaga that beat CC that day.

As far as the original poster asking a newbie question I don't understand why people pounced on him so hard. He's new to the MMA and it's that simple. No need to antagonize even though I understand people who are annoyed by common trolling that happens around here due to negativity towards MMA. I think people should use better judgement when reading these posts and read between the lines looking for the sincerity in ones comments or questions. After all, this sub-forum is on a boxing website and should be at least a decent representative of hybrid fans that can help connect the two seemingly opposing sides turning fans of either sport into fans of both.
