Just reading Sakio Bika's excuse for losing his fight with Bute, he nearly drowned in a swimming pool the day before after jumping into the deep end to cool down despite being unable to swim:

    Any other good ones?

Ricky Hatton is a top class clown in this department, sometimes i think because all of his fans are footy fans, he forgets that sometimes boxing fans that actually know the sport are listening, what an embarrassment.

Gotta say though, Duran has an excuse for most of his losses

Lou Nova takes the prize for this.

He was not able to use his "cosmic punch" against Joe Louis because the alignment and rotation of the earth were wrong.

I reckon he was, pre-fight he was training with a yoga practitioner to develop both the cosmic punch and a dynamic stance so imagining him blaming his defeat on the earth's alignment isn't too much of a stretch.

DeJesus 1- I came in flat, don't want to fight in the Garden again.

Leonard 2- He ran too much, didn't want to fight with a runner, I had stomach cramps, had to lose too much weight.

Benitez- I couldn't get focused during my training, the environment wasn't right.

Laing- I wasn't motivated at all, this fight didn't interest me.

Hagler- He didn't knock me down, didn't hurt me at all. . . I won this fight.

Hearns- I had to lose too much weight, was weight drained.

Sims- Was out of shape, hadn't fought but once in two years, and I still should of won this fight.

Leonard 3- This fight didn't mean anything, the guy ran, I was too flat.

Lawlor- My shoulder, couldn't fight on.

Pazienza 1- The judges robbed me, I knocked him down, won the fight.

Pazienza 2- I wasn't ready for this fight.

Camacho 1- The judges are blind, this fight was mine.

Castro 1- The hometown guy got the decision.

Joppy- I was too old, premature stoppage, would have destroyed him if I was younger.

Gonzalez- Fought a light heavy in his hometown.

Camacho 2- Eh, I don't even care anymore.

I love Duran, but you got to admit, the man sure did have a lot of excuses.

Manny's "I was wearing the wrong socks" excuse I find very loltastic.

Also Oliver McCall's "His shorts blinded me" is classic

    Undeniably.

He has an excuse for practically every loss before he bcame completely shot. He didn't train for any of his losses to Hearns, Leonard, and Benitez. At least some will have you believe that.

That, I believe, was legit. Look at what happened in the rematch.
