I'm surpised you don't rate Morrison's power. He had his limitations, but for my money he could bang. Mercer once claimed Morrison hit him harder than anyone.
One left hook also dropped Ruddock and totally changed the momentum of the fight, which was going away from Morrison at the time.

I think Moorer has less proven power than Morrison, but he could hit. He dropped the limited but huge Mike White several times (although White did go the distance) and blasted out Cooper who wasn't an easy guy to get out of there when the mood took him. Evander landed every punch in the book on Cooper and eventually stopped him, but it took everything Holy had to do so. Coop was tough when he chose to be.

I had actually forgotten that it was a blow to Damiani's conker that did him in. Nevertheless, I feel Mercer still has enough power to get Wlad out if there, should he land right. I admit his chances of doing so aren't good though.

Guys always point ot the guy they beat as the one that hit them hardest- Holmes to Shaver, Braddock to Baer, Rahmen to Sanders. Its an ego thing.

If you disagree, I respect that. All I can do is point again to Morrison's struggles with guys that a true power puncher would have starched in Hipp, Bent, and Williams, and also point to Morrison's need to chemically enhance that left hook.

Yeah, the Ruddock fight was impressive, but I think it is telling that it came well at the end of Ruddock's career, after the horrid beatings he took at the hands of Tyson and Lewis. He just was not the same fighter. And in the end, lets not forget that Ruddock is a guy who was stopped by Dave Jaco. Increaidble offense, not much on the other end.

As for Moorer- Cooper, Coooper did have 22 career losses, some of them by brutal KO. Hell, he was stopped even by a crusier who's name alludes me. Again, you just don't see those brutal Moorer Knock Outs that his reputation would entail, at least at heavy.

With their combonations of weak chins and overrated power, I see Wladdy sending these guys home with the first right hand he lands.

Ruddock apparently suffered an asthma attack against Jaco. I haven't seen the fight myself, but that's the way it was reported.

    Lefthook31,

Been noting your posts on various threads the past several weeks. You have consistently been right on point on must subjects with the proper take on the evaluation of talent and/or careers. I generally find that I am in agreement with no more than a small minority of the ESB posting population (ESB is inundated with moronic clownboys who clearly were crap athletes or are crap athletes but active internet "writers" of dumbass opinion that could only come from guys spending more time writing about sports than ever having participated in athletics at any relevant level). Good stuff. Don't forget that the ESB "opinion" is reflective of its particular demographic. Surely no poll taken of ex-fighters or current athletes would ever be as asinine as the results often produced on this particular site or others like it. As such, remember it isn't worth taking too seriously. The most vocal on ESB are usually the most idiotic.

    :good

He is right and he knows. Give credit where it is due. Though I think that Wlad has a better chin than some people think.

Is Wlads jaw made of granite ..NO, but is it as bad as some say NO.

YES, Wlad has been KD, but wlad has picked himself up EVERY TIME. Wlad himself says that it was a lack of focus in his career. He changed everything. New team, new training sites, he changed everything and now Wlad is winning, no he is dominating like Nazim said.

Figures from the entire statement and all the credit he gave to Wlad, you would focus on the chin?

I actually agreed most of his statement. I dont think he is Ali & Foreman level but his title reign is alredy very impressive. He will be remembered as a great heavyweight no doubt about that.

No need to get angry. I was just curious did you agree with no chin part. :D

    Obviously I have.

I am sorry, because you are a good poster yourslef, but there is nothing that you or anyone else can do to turn Tucker into something he wasn't. He was a big fighter for his day, he had power agaisnt lesser opposition- thought that power level seemed to come down agaisnt better fighters. He had a hell of a beard when he was younger. He just did not have a tremdendous skill set.

I don't know anyone who thinks either of those wins were controversial.
