"I broke my back" "Spinal". Tyson after a WIN.

Roy Jones after the first Tarver fight which he won also. "I had a toothache".

Speaking of Tarver, didn't he blame his inept performance in the Bhop fight on suspected pre-fight poisining?

Poisoning is an excuse as old as boxing itself.

Duran is the king of excuses, no doubt about it.

Holyfield has a bunch of them as well, although some were legit. I.e. the third Bowe fight.

Joe Roper had one of the better ones, after losing to Louis in 1939:

"I zigged, when I should of zagged!"

The vaseline thing was one of the better ones of all time. Didn't it supposedly clog his pores so that he couldn't sweat properly? WOW

Lenny Mangiapane complained after being TKO'd by Bobby Bartels that he was only tryin' to step outta the ring after being dropped to kick a photographer who's flashbulb distracted him.

Just remembered another one, the infamous leg massage Hearns received prior to his epic fight with Hagler.

Berbick claimed his room was infused with poisonous gas before the Tyson fight.

Tyson was past his peak for all of his defeats.

Willard claimed Dempsey has a metal bolt in his hand (accodding to carpenter)
