Was flicking through boxrec and came across this: http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=321041&cat=boxer It's slated for the undercard of Sylvester vs Lorenzo. I think Skelton can take this Sosnowski was beating Pianeta until he badly gassed. I actually think he won the fight. Thoughts? :think
How did you find that? Depends how much was taken out of Skelton in the Rogan fight, but I agree I had Sosnowski winning that fight against Pianeta. BTW, how could boxrec have this as a 4 star fight?
I've only seen Pianeta once and he didn't look too impressive, if Skelton still has the desire then its def. winnable for him.
Not sure i was just flicking through and seen Skelton and thought what was he up too 4 star seems a bit of an exaggeration
It would do little to help Skelton if he won. He needs to put in a good performance, but let Pianeta sneak though. That way Skelton gets the opportunity for more decent money as a tough jobber.
Good luck to Matt I hope he does it!! Top man and a really hard working fighter!! Deserves a bit of luck he does... COMMON SKELTON:happy:happy
Could go either way. I thought Sosnowski should have got the decision. Pianeta is another Abraham, stands there early on soaking it up but comes on late. Skelton will have to be wary of that before using up all his energy early on. Skelton needs to put those rounds in the bank without expending to much energy, he's an old ****er now and it plays into Pianeta's hands if he's blowing out of his arse later. He could end up winning rounds easy, and then Pianeta comes back and gives the judges an excuse to award him the fight. That is my prediction.
He should not fight Pianeta then, because winning that match, would make any manager of a German based heavyweight prospect think twice about a future Skelton match-up..... Skelton has had his run as a contender, it is in his interest now, to avoid the odd early morning run, stick on a bit of timber, and fight these youngsters, purely with the intention of going the distance, and having a bit of fun along the way.:good
Aye but how many prospect fights has Skelton got in him at his age? I think a title shot would get him a payday then he can retire or go try his hand at as a journeyman.
I hope he doesn't take the fight. He doesn't have anything to gain, is the wrong side of 40 and could get seriously hurt and I've recently bought a DVD career set of his fights on the belief that I thought he was retired!
