    yankees are unknown to the rest of the world.
    no one even watches baseball on this side of the pond.
    soccer is the biggest sport money and popularity wise.
    it's probably followed by tennis and hockey.
    then I would guess Formula 1.

    Biggest names in sports? I don't know, probably people like Ronaldinho, Michael Schumacher, Roger Federrer, Maria Sharapova.
