The way i see Khan getting a stoppage is like Calzaghe vs Manfredo ref just jumps in because of the amount of punches
Witter did it and Kotelnik ran out of steam in the last 2 which is saying something because he really didn't get started until the 5th or 6th
Khan will be too quick(hands and feet)for Kotelnik and Kotelnik won't be able to get set to get his own punches off. Then theres the if-if Khan slows down,he will get caught
If he uses his jab and stays on the outside its no mistake. Khan has no inside game, as shown by his previous canvas tasting, so he needs to make this an outside game, an outside game only.
Kotelnik ain't Manfredo. If he gets hit he puts his gloves up around his ears. As Roach says, he likes to do that, it tires his opponent out and works to his advantages later. You can't stop a guy with gloves covering his head unless its a journeyman
I think Khan will win a 'phoney' stoppage. Stuns Kotelnik back, then lets off flurries that land on Kotelnik's tight guard. Ref jumps in and waves it off. That's a gut feeling based on politics more than anything. If it's a far fight. Khan dazzles Kotelnik frequently, is way ahead on points and gets stopped in the 11th. Watch the sharp straight right Kotelnik buzzes Maidana with at the end of the 11th round (I think) Would be enough to knock Khan out IMO. Amir Khan isn't Sweet Pea, regardless of his new training. His 'bigger neck and shoulders' won't make him Margarito either; look how good a physical specimen Terry Norris was for instance. HOWEVER; Kotelnik isn't Simon Brown or Julian Jackson. And let's not hype Khan up too much if he wins; Kotelnik is 'the worst World champion out there' let's not forget :deal
:shock::shock: Yes sir. Khan will start well, spring in his step moving around the ring well and effectivley. His hand speed will be much more superior than that of Kotelnik's and he will be able to land a useful amount of combinations. The danger is present of Amir Khan's questionable chin. However i think a better guard and a more intelligent Khan then the Bredis Prescott fight will mean that he wont go out guns blazing. Kotelnik's face will start to show wear and tear and i reckon from the 6th round theres a possibilty of a stoppage, while Khan backs Kotelnik up against the ropes and unleashes a stunning combo. Happy
Yep, it may slow Kotelnik down but it also leaves Khan wide open to sharp counters. Kotelnik may be methodical in the footspeed department but he's not that slow in handspeed.
Kotelnik stops him unless theres an awful stoppage which is possible because when Khan fights you cant help get the feeling the referees going to jump in to stop it when his opponents against the ropes and Khans flurrying even when the opponents covering up and not hurt.
