Get a few of you to chip in on the 15 quid then take that box to your local and tell him put it on, that's how we do it instead of the pub paying hundreds for it.
It is a credit crunch. I will buy it, but if the local had it on you could have 5 or 6 pints, watch the fight and spend the same as if you were still in doors, and in doors you got to supply your own booze
Did you know a pub could lose its licence if the landlord allowed you to do that. Sky employ a company to monitor TV's in pubs. For pub subscriptions which costs a lot of money there is a pint glass sign in the corner of the screen. Anyone pub broadcasting without the pint glass sign risks a big fine and loss of the premises licence
It's only £40 to watch it live. If you go for the whole card thats almost 6 hours entertainment for £40. Top value. Especially compared to football.
I couldn't stand watching it in a bar filled with casual fans explaining how cortez cost ricky hatton p4p supremacy
This reminds me when me and my football mates went to see George Foreman at the old London Arena years ago. We arrived early, but my mates refused to go into the arena to watch the undercard fights (including a young Colin McMillan). They spent the evening at the bar whilst I was johnny no mates in the arena. They came to see a George Foreman KO 1 and said "what a wasted of money" as they only saw 2 minutes of boxing the entire night.
Yep, the little beer glass at the corner of the screen means the pub is licensed to show Sky. It costs a coupla hundred quid for box office. My pub usually lets everyone chip in a fiver or tenner til the cash is recupurated and sorts everyone out with one beer too (as we're all in there til 5 in the mornin) but only did it for Hatton-Mayweather.......couldn't stand it afterwards, too many casuals
