very good straight right hand that would get through the guard, i think it was very effective against quartey and at least to some degree against wright.

what he would do sometime is actually stiff jab the oppenents left glove to create a opening for the right hand as he did against jose flores.

another great mention imo is stevie johnson.

I mentioned Ali, I was thinking of the Lyle fight. ANother man I highly regard is Norris in the Leoanrd fight who drove the uppercut straight thru. Terry had to know that Ray would have no defense for it. He never would have won that fight if Terry wasnt such a great fighter

but how does a fighter protect themselves from the uppercut. Maybe a crab style guard? I saw Hagler use it once briefly in his first title defense.

In his 5th defense he was facing the same man who repeatedly used it on him. It was an arcing shot he brought upwards and scored three straigh times with it. Anyone else would have been on the floor.

Dwight Braxton also was nailed with it by Eddie Davis in round 6 which shattered his nose. It just seems to be difficult shot to defend against
