What am I missing apart of a hugging competition? Lewis was well past his best at this point. Just a very boring fight to watch I feel.
Oh just **** off mate, I can't be bothered arguing with ****wits tonight, Lewis-Vitali is probably the best HW fight of the 00's, and nearly everyone would agree with that statement I'm sure. If you think its a 'boring hugfest' then you should probably find a new sport to watch, because you've really not got a clue.
HOYA i agree but i dont think it was a great fight. It was quite sloppy and scrappy an dthe guys put in an effort but it was scrappy and i dont like that. It was a good fight and probably the best heavyweight fight of the 2000's but it aint saying much.
What do people expect? I agree Hoya, mate. Watched it only the other day as well. I should post more often on this thread. Why isn't it a Sticky anyway?
Technically its not great, but it has that 'historically significant' feel to it. It develops into this epic battle of wills between a hungry young contender and an aged champion - that's why its great.
lol, rage. Not hard to find the "best" HW fight of the 00's, mate. As far as I'm concerned, it was a wankfest.
it has a great story and is important that qualifies it as an important fight. Like i said its not too my tastes but i can see why its liked.
A great story makes a good fight? Yeah, maybe if you're there around the time the fight is taking place live. If you're around at the time and swallowed by the hype and the fuel for the whole fight, plus the aftermath and the decision, I guess people are going to rate it higher than it is, but when I picture a good fight, I don't see a lot of hugging (which from what I saw, there was, I'm not saying it was a Williams/McDermott session, though when I was live they didn't seem so roomy, but when I watched it back they clearly were) and really, not many shots thrown safe for the jabs and the maybe the odd power punch. From what I was told, I was under the impression that the fight started with Klitschko doing well, then Lewis cutting Klitschko and coming back into the fight for the last two rounds. I just didn't really see what I expected and maybe that may have lowered my opinion, but meh. Good promotion maybe. In other news, so I watched Ali fight Frazier today, that blew chunks.
