Who comes close to being a "perfect fighter?"

    Morales 'chose' to get hit. He fought to the level of his opponent, his defense is as good as any when he tries to box...maybe not PBF level but definitely elite. Also when you have a chin like that...who needs defense. lol.

    JMM goes down too much, MAB got KO by JJ & Pac in his prime. Young ALi IMO was pretty close to perfect, not textbook but I cant see anything he was lacking.

    I love Ricardo Lopez,but I'm shocked at the number of mentions he is getting in this thread. Shouldn't a complete fighter have the ability to change gears, to use new plans, to have a really devastating plan B? Lopez does not make the cut.

    Negative.

    We never saw him in drawn out trench-warfare. We never really see Roy do give and take hand to hand combat.

    Agree with most of the names mentioned already, and my personal choice would be Roberto Duran - for him to win a world title at middleweight as a 38 year old says all you need to know about how good Duran was. I'd like to add another name to the list though - Mike McCallum. Technically as good as anyone you will see. I like to make my fighters watch tapes of some of the great technicians - I rely heavily on tapes of McCallum.

    I'm confused about the anti-Pacquiao sentiment in this thread. I'd definitely see him as "more complete" than Jones, Lopez and one or two others that have been mentioned. In fact whilst the jury is still out (obviously), Pacquiao is a good pick.

    Hey, I`ll certainly not argue with your inclusion of Morales, I love the guy & to me he was a brilliant fighter & entertainer, a true ATG, in his prime he was probably the best in the world at a couple of points in his career but I`ll stick with Robinson on this one.
