No way that's true. Winky may have made some dumb $$ decisions, but that's pure insanity. Not only would he never turn that down, it'd never be offered.

If I'm Pavlik, I'm going for Balszay at 168. If he takes that fight and Chad Dawson is willing to come down in weight, HBO can easily hype it up as the best at 160 taking on the man at LHW in a "Catchweight" bout to determine the best overall fighter.

Sergio Martinez and Winky Wright both have drawbacks. Winky is coming off a loss (and previously a layoff of two years) and has never been much of a draw anyways. Sergio is still somewhat unproven to HBO audiences and he's a 154 fighter.

Sturm is the best option but if 2 mil doesn't cut it for the fighters, chances are it won't happen.

I could see HBO pushing for Balzsay. If Pavlik beats him it sets him up with Bute and that steals a little SMW thunder from Showtime. HBO 'own's the winner of the fight. It then sets up a big fight on HBO that Showtime has done a lot of promting for.

I think any Pavlik fan or team member should steer clear away from Chad Dawson.

Pavlik should fight Balzay for the WBO 168lbs title and then unify against Bute (if he wins his fight against Andrade) in 2010.

what?! why are sturm and balzay ok opponents and winky and sergio are not?? that makes no sense

as an american fight fan, i'd much rather see pavlik fight winky or sergio than sturm who totally sucks and balzay who i don't know who the **** that is

I'm liking a Balzsay fight more and more myself. I watched some video of him on You Tube. KP would not be able to just run right over Balzsay like he does most middleweights. They'd put on a good show, but it would be a very winnable fight for Pav. Balzsay is a natural 168, and a southpaw, so it would be great preparation for Bute.

If Bute get by Andrade you can't ignored that.

I think your right on the money. Balzsay or Martinez are probably the finalists by now. which one depends on whether or not KP wants to move up, or stay at 160.
