A good night of boxing only ruined by Fury's opponent who was a complete and utter joke and the women's boxing which, needless to say, was hardly watched. From where I was sitting Duke McKenzie and John Rowling were commentating on it though hopefully it wasn't shown. Danny McIntosh simply isn't good enough to get past the stage he is at now. He looked extremely ordinary, I thought, though he did manage to reach the 7th... I thought Thaxton had won by 2 rounds so thought it was the wrong decision though certainly not a bad one as the fight was pretty close.
I switched over for the womens 'boxing', mate. Managed to cram in all of the fights I wanted to see off of the Hennessey and Warren cards, though. I don't know how close you were and if you heard it but if you didn't, Fury said his opponent was a joke as well.
They showed the womens boxing, what a farce, ruined the whole show, and Tyson Fury's opponent was equally farcical.
Was switching between ITV4 and Sky. The women's show was ****, spoiled even more by some fame hungry nob-end former big brother contestants cheering the red one. To be fair to fury's opponent. Matthew Ellis and a couple other of his opponents were worse. At least this one tried to get in close and fight. Cracking belly on him though.
I thought Clevery looked class. I'm not going to sit here and say future ATG or Ring Magazine Champion but he has a good career in front of him. BTW, If anyone else who reads this went could they tell me the name of that company who were selling the DVDs under the balcony? I meant to pick up a leaflet but forgot.
You could tell Fury wasn't really interested in the fight, I thought the other guy was in love with Fury the amount he hugged him!
He did. His opponent, Ingle trained, retired after the 2nd round with a shoulder injury... Brendan Ingle, as lovely as he is, seriously needs to consider packing it in. Everyone of his guys looked crap tonight.
i was impressed with cleverly, definatly has the skills and the power will develop i believe, both looked well up for it, mcintosh just couldnt get off and was blowing after the second round. the birds boxing was embarassing, but funny to see all the geezers in the crowd laughing there tits off. furys opponent arrived straight from some polish pub in ealing broadway i reckon, **** poor!
The first round was close and I just gave it to Kelly who landed, IMO, the cleaner shots but the 2nd round was all Murray's. If I was more cynical I would say that the shoulder "injury" wasn't really an issue but the recogonising that he would be outclassed was.
