I just finished reading Sydney Gangster Graham ''ABO'' Henry's book it has a little story about Grange Old School Boxing gym co-ordinator KEVIN HOLLAND having a heated spar with British Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion Bunny Johnson in a Prison Boxing Match in Parramatta Gaol Back in 70's Holland came out thowing left an right hooks by 3rd round Johnson's corner Stop the fight as Bunny was gettin a bitt of a touch up, can any one shead some light on this.
No Arthur Tunstal and Charlie Gergan uesd to bring Amatuer Boxer's into the Gaol to spar and fight against the prison boxing team i suppose he was bought in for a workout.
Bunny Johnson was brought in to spar at Parramattta Gaol. They came and got me out of bed to spar him because I played football earlier in the morning and was having a rest. I had no head gear on or ball guard whilst Bunny Johnson had the whole outfit. The sparring session only lasted 1:58 because I hit him with a left hook and he grabbed me and turned to his corner and said that's it, no more he hits too hard. Still have photos of the session with the boys looking on as well as the screws. Bunny was brought out here to fight Tony Mundine for the commonwealth title and Tony Mundine stopped him in the 7th round.
Gday Kev, I bet that was a great feeling. Tell me mate, did you ever fight as a professional or had you boxed much before your spar with Bunny Johnson?
