Prime Tommy Morrison vs. Prime Michael Moorer

How does a fight between prime Tommy Morrison and prime heavyweight Michael Moorer pan out? I think that this fight has potential for fireworks.:bbb

Tommy had power but was erratic, also got hit easy and hurt and other times he suprised me. Moorer was another with not the best chin but a southpaw heavy...1 of the first

Compare the way they fought against one common opponent in particular..George Foreman, and you have to say that Tommy was the smarter fighter..he sure showed he had the potential to be so. But Moorer was a different fighter than Foreman and presented different problems, so I guess it would go, like it's been said already, as to who landed first..

 

Interesting picks guys. I would have to go with Moorer by late round tko/ko.

Morrison by KO

 

Both men had exceptional power, but both also had very suspect chins. Both also have the claim to have risen off the canvas to victory on at least two or more occasions in their rather roller coaster like careers. If I were to take a pick however, I'd probably go with Moorer. For whatever its worth, Moorer's defeats came primarily against top flight opponents, whereas Morrison was easily beaten by Michael Bent and arguably Ross Purity. He also had some very close calls against diminished versions of Carl Williams, Razor Ruddock, and the average Joe Hipp. I also happen to think that Moorer's skill and athletic ability may have been a slight notch above Morrison's.

Moorer by TKO somewhere inside of 5 rounds, but probably after visiting the canvas at least once or twice.

 

Good fight. Moorer at his best easily beats the best Morrison.

 

Excellent analysis. I agree, only I think Morrison could last until the 8th round or so.

Based on that one common opponent fight against Foreman, I go with Morrison by either a decision or a late round tko.

Wow, since when does that type of analysis apply in boxing? Morrison was a brawler, Moorer an excellent counterpuncher. Both with shaky chins and good power. Moorer could do more, and was beating Foreman worse than Morrison was before he landed that one shot.
