If you think that's what you said, you obviously didn't read the thread first as what you actually said was 'You have Amir Khan to thank for this' in reply to a thread concerning the fact that some of the fights that people were interested in were not shown on last nights show. If the show had been on Sky Sports rather than SBO, no doubt they would still be agrieved that those fights that they were interested in were not shown.
Was looking forward to it last night thought Small-Hall was going to be a good chief supporting fight but it only got going when Hall got cuts on both eyes and went for broke. The main event was decent but didn't have the drama i thought it would but that's boxing but to not show Enzo or Brook was a joke and i'm not paying to watch the Olympians beat up on poor level fighters. Last night was the final straw i will not buy a Frank Warren Sky Box Office Show again. Mayweather-Marquez by the sounds has a perfect card and that's worht pay £15 for but i'm not paying £15 to watch two fights and three heavybag workouts.
Nah, it's because the fight involved a Brit. Watt's only good for big, neutral fights and unfortunately can't get passed his bias tendancies. Turns him into a nausiating plonker.
I agree with everyone I hate Sky they are monopolistic twats, everything they show is the same. I read somewhere that Buncey did some work for them but basically got told to fall in line and do the old lick arse bs crap that the rest of the Sky pundidts do or lose the job. Buncey being Buncey he went for the latter rather then lose his sole why can't the rest of those puppets that they call experts atsch do the same. Didn't buy the PPV last night and if his next fight is against Morales I won't even bother watching let alone buying the card. I like Khan but for me to continue supporting him I want to see him beeing treated like a regular boxer. Khan moving onto PPV so early was a bad move for both him and boxing. As I read on bringbackbunce his fight got 3million+ viewers and outdid Formula 1 if he had the last 3 fights on there I can guarentee all his PPV's from then would do at least 25-30% more sales he went onto PPV way to early. And whether you like him or not he is probably the second biggest name in British Boxing (even ahead of Calzaghe) and having him on ITV was a good thing for the sport now he is on PPV he is probably being watched by 100-200,000 people instead of 3/4,000,000 I think anyone can work out that the latter does a lot more for the sport and noone else would get the terrestial TV channels interested.
Yea I heard that as well! Last night's show was very poor. Enzo's pounding was of more interest to me than DeGale's one round bore. Nobody seemed bothered in the after fight discussion and this was probably the worse PPV show I can remember.
That would be an entertaining lawsuit, go for it! Well, for about 24 seconds before it got dismissed....
I think one part that hasn't been mentioned enough is that not only did they show the adverts but that they we're ridiculously long as well. I hate Sky I don't subscribe to it and I watch the PPV's either in a pub or at a mate's who is stupid enough to buy it. They contribute a lot to everything that for me is wrong in modern British sport and sport coverage. Still much rather have them showing boxing then not have anyone showing it just wish they would pick up their game.
Yes I had it when the event started but it is very easy to sort.Just rewind for a few seconds and then play,it usually corrects itself then.
Buncey would jump at regular work with sky tomorrow, and toe the line just like the rest of them. Its a nice little story of nobility and martyrdom, but i dont buy it. He has a family and mortgage to support just like other people,so its not a criticism and i'd join Sky as a puppet for the money those guys are on. Nothing wrong with that at all,but spare me the rebel maverick standing up for his principles against the mighty SKY crap. They waved a big cheque he'd be there. The PPV being shite doesnt surprise me.;Watched it online myself.
Wrong. He isn't dependent on one single job, he has a variety of different jobs within boxing which will cover his 'family and mortgage' as you say.
poor production, shabby presentation and just an all round **** take, ads on ppv? get the **** outta here damn, i miss setanta, even with the low budget and dilapidated studio at least it was value for money, they listened to the fans, didn't miss out important fights on the bill and showed more quality boxing in 2 years then sky have in 10 we just have to take what we're given though, because we'd be even more ****ed without sky
