Anyone else think the guy came across as a real class act, both in the bottle he showed in getting up when getting repeatedly dropped and in the post fight interview where he went out of his way to give Cleverly the utmost respect?
Yeah i didn't really like him or Cleverly before last night but they both came across well and i now like both guys because of the way they fought and came across. McIntosh showed balls he could of folded easily but he didn't and he showed heart and kept going at it and finished as a warrior does on his feet. As you said the interview was a class act and he showed what boxing is about. Props to Mr McIntosh
i think he was just trying to kid his way though it, he must have known early on that Cleverly had too much variety for him and he was just trying to goad him into a punch up where at least he stood a chance.
I have to admit during the fight my opinion was similar to yours, but after a while I could see what was going on(like GazOC said) he wasn't acting the ***** he was just trying to kid his way through the fight. I think if he had just fought without all the acting up and playfulness Cleverly would of realised he was there for the taking earlier and got rid of him by the 3rd/4th. He and his girlfriend seemed like really nice people after the fight, and I wish him all the best in the future. He was shown up by a very classy operator who looks like he could achieve things at World level.
McIntosh showed some great heart in his fight....was a suprisingly good scrap. Cleverly put him down with some really powerful shots and McIntosh would suddenly leap up after looking ****ed. LHW scene in the UK isnt all that strong so he should be again to get another titile shot.
McIntosh showed loads of heart but he is a lot more limited than I thought, I doubt he will ever reach British level.
