sure he is chinny, but lets not forget he possesses great talent and for me is one of the most exciting fighters to watch. He is so exciting, he doesn't need a KO to get the crowd going. I LOVE this guy, this is what boxing needs. Someone who brings excitement, whether they get starched in one round or outbox average fighters.
i dont know because he has a terrorist sounding name. or either they just found a fighter thats not there favorite and they decided to attack him to make thier own opinions about why thier favorite fighter is so good sound better and have some kind of backing.
I was wondering about this too. And then, after the Kotelnik fight, threads matching up Khan vs Cotto, Mosley, Marquez, Pac, Duran, SRL started popping up. And then people came out declaring Khan the next P4P king. Then I understood why so many people hate Amir Khan. I mean, I like the guy and wanted him to win, but sometimes the hype just gets so unreal.
^^^^^^ 1. He is overhyped 2. by himself e.g. talkin bout fightin Manny, PBF, Hatton right after the Barrera fight like beating a shot Barrera with a deep cut sudenly put him in the class of those fighters. 3. Still very much unproven, he hasnt really faced any worthy competition unless you wanna call Kotelnik that Those are the reasons I find him annoyin
Warren/hype-train/undeserved ppv/too much up-front money/chinniness/"arrogance" (i use the quotes as any clips I've seen, he seems decent enough, but I'm not subject to the innundation I'm sure the UK folks received) You knew the answer to this question, I know you did...
Not sure that if his fans werent making such stupid comments the kid wouldnt be getting the backlash...I personally like Khan, but he has a ways to go to be as good as some here already have him being... So in short, I think that its a backlash on him caused by his diehard fans.
Talked a lot of trash way too early, even his challenge attempts right now don't seem to inspire any new fans either. The man has been calling out Hatton(a fellow British citizen coming off a devastating loss who the fans REALLY love), Morales(don't need to explain anything here) and JMM if he loses to Floyd Mayweather. Those are his recent challenge attempts only, you don't want to know about his challenges when he had like 5 fights and was being hyped as Aladdin. :rofl He called out Manny Pacquiao(who was below in weight), made a "serious" challenge to Floyd Mayweather to have a 4 rounder with him where he believed he had a GREAT chance of winning. The worst of all isn't his early trash talk it's calling out Hatton. When Khan got knocked the **** out under one minute the first to come and make him feel better was Hatton with comments like "If I got hit with that I would be KO'd too" to help the kid recover. Now when Hatton gets KO'd Khan calls him out for a fight. Don't know how the hardcore Hatton fans feel about this but I found it beyond disgusting and cheap.
I can't see why being chinny is a viable reason for hating a fighter. Almost every fighter has a flaw of some kind whether it be a lack of power or a glass jaw. I personally thought Khan was overhyped and was a knockout waiting to happen. I personally disliked him because he made a number of idiotic decisions when turning pro. His choice of a trainer, his use of an overly aggressive style when he always performed his best off the back foot. His lack of a fundamentally sound defence. His unwillingness to learn from previous mistakes. Though I will give him his due he has made the correct decisions finally and is fighting in a style that is much more suited to him now.
great post, not to mention the drunk driving accident where he almost killed somebody.....but the hatton thing was the icing on the cake, the only way khan turns around the hatred that i have for him, is if he beats a maidana, bradley, or campbell....and i would probably be a fan.....but the way he treated hatton, was low and disgusting....he gets knocked out by prescott, and hatton be-friended him, and gave him encouragement....and just one week before the hatton-pac fight....both hatton and khan said they would never face eachother....then like less then week later khan speaks to sky news saying its left up to the promoters(frank warren and GBP) to make it work out..... and what really pissed me off today about khan, was did anybody catch "the secret" call-out of hatton today by frank warren khan's promoter....."i'm really concerned for ricky's health and dont want him to fight anymore".....thus saying......we are trying to bait hatton into a fight with khan......and politely saying if you get in the ring khan will hurt you too, its been very disgusting how camp khan has treated hatton.....and roach has tryed to bait hatton as well, saying ricky will come knock on our doors if khan wins the title......
the reason i dont like khan is a few i cant stand warren or his dad they annoy me too **** plus the fact that khan just wouldnt even say the cut on barrera did have an effect and he wuda beaten him at any age the way he just showed no respect thats a big reason
If anything I like Khan more after his loss to Prescott. He shows that he wants to learn from his mistakes and is willing to listen to Freddie to compensate for his one devastating weakness. If anything I like the guy more for winning despite having a shaky beard.
