Whilst it annoys me........the matchmaking from Warren.......il take a another view.......a business one.

He is very shrewd.....the one time he got it wrong was when he took the advice of the then trainer of Kahn to fight Prescott......becuase barring that one he has moved Khan very well.

I now hear that Khan could be fighting Morales which yet again is very shrewd from Warren.

Lets all be promoters for one second and pretend we are managing Khan carrer for the next 18 months.

Our main goal is for Khan to win every one of those fights and at the same time make it as marketable as possible whilst creating a legend/myth. Now remember guys we need this to be perfect matchmaking.....get big names at the right time and at the right location.

    Rules -
3 fights per year......so lets say 5 fights maxium....starting from End of
July 2009 to end of January 2011.

Another rule......you must explain from a management/ promotor point of view why you are taking this fight.

    Here goes for me -

October 2009 Versus E. Morales in U.S.A in L.A ( Boxing legend and considered one of the best fighters in the lower weights ever/ Hasnt fought in 2 years and is way past his best along with being 34 come fight night. LA has a huge hispanic following)

February 2010 versus G. Rees in U.K in Cardiff ( Good record and FORMER champion/ Rees is good fight comercially especially in Cardiff as he is welsh....5'5 but with one only one defeat in some 30 odd fights.

June 2010 verus Joel Casyamayor in U.S.A in Las Vegas ( another boxing former champion at the lower weights/ good name/ good record and at 39 good enough for Khan to defeat without too much worry that he will lose.

Sept 2010 versus Ricky Hatton in UK. London ( A hugley popular fighter who will be way past his best by now....banking on the fact that he himself has had 2 winning performances since his loss to Pacquaio althought against handpicked opponents)

Jan 2011 versus Oscar De La Hoya in U.S.A las vegas for a vacant strap at 147 ( Oscar decides to come back in the summer of 010 with a victory and at the advise from me the promotor as i tell him it would be a huge fight for both. Oscar by now is nearing 40.

There you have it......my matchmaking from a business point of view for khan.

DLH and Hatton will not be about that long.

    Ok,

    Sep/Oct 2009 - Salita, his mandatory

    Jan/Feb 2010 - Morales in the states

    June 2010- Hatton at Wembley

November 2010 - Maidana his mandatory

March 2011 - Prescott, erase his only loss

All big an winnable fights. If khan beats these then he is ready for the big boys

We are talking business.......if i were your advisor i think id stay away from Prescott period......to little to gain......unless Prescott shows more weakness.

We got to think from a comercial point of view.

Salita is too dangerous for the little reward. Remember we need to pull the wool over the public (especially the casual viewer)

If, as a boxer, your main objective to make as much money as you can for as little risk as possible while building up a long unbeaten record defending an alphabet strap that will convince casual fans of your "greatness" then Warren is the man for you.

If, on the other hand, you want to test yourself against the best, win or lose, then forget it.

Look at it this way, if Hatton had stayed with Warren then you can guarantee he would never have faced Mayweather or Pacquiao, could have easily surpassed Calzaghe's 46-0 and then at the tail end of his career moved up to welterweight and beat a 40 odd year old past it Mosley and a totally shot De La Hoya and people would be talking about him as an unbeaten all time great and saying things like Mayweather and Pacquiao ducked Hatton and Hatton would have beaten them if they had of fought etc etc.

    Spot on old boyyyyy!

Go on fella have a go at perfect wool over the people matchmaking stuff.

I dont think anyone can beat mine.......i mean u have several legends in there and every fights is making millions.

Plus half the guys are small and past it........and Hatton and Oscar would be ever more over the hill than they really are......(add to the fact they are more hype than substance anyhow).

Forget Khan fighting dangerous men the public havent heard off......your bloody bonkers.......id sack ya if u said that. We need our cash cow.

The main thing with my stuff is this -

Khan could remain a ''champ for long enough'' untill someone with the political power of Oscar decides to make sure a vacnt belt at 147 is free for these two BIG NAMES to fight.

Both men have the chance to say........im a 23 time champion etc etc.

Khan becuase of his popularity could remain unbeaten untill the next olympics and be a 3 weight champion if Warren is smart enough.....long enough for him to have great fighters like mosley (when he is old enough lets say around 2012) and you could always throw in a few others......maybe he could fight Forrest in late 011 in time for a title.

    Got to love boxing

Imagine Barcelona saying to Man utd can we wait untill a few years time please for the champions league final?

Or Arsenal saying wait wait.......we cant have our youngsters play yet as they are to inexperienced.

Or NFL and basketball teams waiting to play each other only when star players are out injured.

    The situation is a joke

You consider him shrewd?? I consider him way over protective. Cant blame him, its the fans fault for filling up the arena to watch his fighters fight a bunch of nobodies. Maybe the fans need a little education on the difference of a championship caliber opponent and a club fighter. Local belts in the UK do not constitue world class level ability.
It was nice to see Hatton leave the stable to test his abilities, but we found out how good he really was. Calzahge on the other hand waited far too long.
