    anyone know of him?

    kahn:eek:lympic silver medalist

gavin:gold medalist at the world amateur championships (first brit to acheive it)

he fought on the kahn undercard the other night did anyone know?or care more to the point? now compare that with kahn following his olympic bid and first few professional fights, think back!!

we were saturated to death (in britain anyway) with him,now why is that ?? now i know gavin is still in the early stages but come on hes lucky to get a mention in good housekeeping magazine, gavin is a far better prospect...

It's a good thing that Gavin is not being hyped. He deserves more attention than Khan but a semi low profile will serve him well in the future.

He was the britians and world number 1 amature for a while in LWW, quite known that he wasnt going to make the weight, he reminds me of Kostya Tszyu, lot better than khan was when he was amature, Khan had all the hope as he was britians only amature boxer in those games, but still in very early stage of development, in his career he will become something special i garantee it

he seems to have better than average power putting a few lads down with body shots , id say as he developes as a fighter his punch will get better , looks the best of the current crop of olympians including sutherland , he dosent waste any punches and has a great variety , was very impressed the other night i think he is only settling into pros now , he has improved with each fight so far

Don't forget that gavin is older than khan, gavin may have won the world amatuers but khan is already a belt holder, so talking of who is the better prospect is strange since one is a world champ and one has fights. both excellent fighers though and excited about gavin.

i didnt see gavins fight on the weekend but have seen the others i think he looks a bit small height wise at his weight and seems to get caught quite a bit i dont think he has great power either. i hope he improves tho

imo degale and saunders look to have made a bigger impression in the pro fights ive seen so far

Gavin is a great fighter. he already had beaten every1 who entered the olympics in his weight division and thats why he was favourite to win. he fought mario kinderlan after the olympics and lost. thats was I think his last ameture defeat.

khan also beat gavin back in ameture days bvut they were both school boyz. over all i think gavin is a very good boxer but he's got to bring that power up and plant his feet in his pro fights but he will deffinately improve soon
