No not at all. I found it thoroughly entertaining watching him do exactly what he needed to do and boxing like a real 'boxer' should. There's always gonna be questions about his chin but it looks like now instead of trying to answer those questions by proving to people that he can trade, he's gonna prove to people instead that he can box and by improving his defense and footwork there's no need for him to be having to answer the chin questions

Not exactly my cup of tea, but as others have stated Kolt has a good chin and a solid guard, Khan wasn't going to knock him out, didn't want to get countered swinging and missing.

It wasn't the most exciting fight (I doubt I will watch it again in the near future), but when watching it live I had that anxiety that one punch could change everything and that kept me very interested in the fight, yet watching it on a replay will not have the same effect as it did when watching it live.

Thats exactly how I felt.......just waiting for Kotelnik to land a big shot, I doubt this will change for every Khan fight for the rest of his career......The nerves that comes with watching a Khan fight :scaredas:

I thought the fight was decent enough, I thought Amirs performance made it a good fight....I certainly didnt find the fight 'boring'. I'll watch it again sometime this week.

What was boring was Kotelniks overly defensive style, not Khans punch and move tactics...

I think the same tactics would work against Maidana.

(It was a relief to see him take Kotelniks punches)

    I wasn't bored.

He even got a couple of 'ooohs and aaahs' out of me with his body swaying and hand speed.

I think Khan is exciting......and the fact that we know he can get himself sparked makes him even more interesting IMO.

Khan is more mayweather than he is wladamir with the defensive fighting and i think if he fights an aggresive fighter there will be more ooohs and aaahs. Kotelnik is an extremely defensive natural counter puncher but khan still managed to hit him plenty albeit at a low connect rate. Kotelnik himself landed less than 100 punches at a 15% rate which means he couldnt get past khans speed and defence.

I think that sparring in the US has helped amir alot, although at certain points in this fight i though amir could have gone to the body more and backed kotelnik off.

It was a very good performance. Comparisons with Mayweather are a bit OTT at this stage tho.
Chin aside,it would appear Khan could lack the power required to fufill his fans expectations.

It was the sweet science at its best.

    Proper BOXING.
He boxed him, he didn't fight him.

A joy to watch for purists like me.

I'm sure Khan was more concerned about waking up the next morning with a World title wrapped around him rather than waking up the next morning having got himself in a war to entertain the fans and got hurt and stopped. He had the speed and the skills to win off the back foot so thats what he did................

I found it very boring, fancy paying to watch someone run around the ring like Benny Hill hitting the other chaps gloves every now and then.

I used to think Johnny Nelson was boring but Khan will eclipse Nelson at this rate.

As a famous warrior once said - "It is better to live one day as a tiger than a thousand as sheep".
