John Duddy

He was never a big attraction but just a hype job without any real class. Hopefully he does not get a title shot as he fights bums and looks rubbish against them.

 

I hear he has been linked with a return to Ireland maybe in Derry or somewhere here anyway against Neil Sinclair (his name has done the rounds on it but Sinclair denies any contact has been mad). Sinclair also wrote a possible opponent might be James Moore another irish man not jamie moore.


The points loss was close but well deserved,Duddy was out worked for the majority of it.

I'd say he would be a big draw

Not 100% sure maybe someone on the Irish thread can tell you or Paddy if he pops in. I think he left the McLaughlin brothers earlier this year though

 

James Moore has been offered the fight with Sinky on the rogan undercard in sept so no duddy there

the last time i spoke to john (about 6 weeks ago) he was looking at an august fight

as for Duddys last fight..........

I dont know what happened i didnt recognise the boy in the ring he was a shaddow of the boxer I saw against Vanda and he was missing the aggresive fighting style I had come to love


As for duddy not being an attraction......... His ticket sales speak for themselves mate He was brought in on the undercard of Wlad/Iggy to boost ticket sales and that he did!

 

Yeah he had a new manager the last i heard, who apparantly went to some lengths to take him from the Mclaughlin brothers.

He was outclassed against Lyell, leaving everyone to claim he has been 'exposed'.

 

John Duddy fought as the headline act in the smaller Maddison Square Garden venue several times. Although I completely agree that he was over-hyped to say that he wasn't a big attraction is completely wrong. His US fanbase is huge.

I haven't seen much of Moore just a few fights on RTE which way you see this going?

most people in the uk will remember him for his points lost to Yuri foreman unfortunately....

Ive seen a few of his fights

hes a tidy boxer will give sinky a good test and could pull off the win aswell!

 

I feel Duddy may turn out to be a figter who will be on major undercards in America to get the crowd going. The man is hardly ever in a dull fight.
