Tomasz Adamek is moving up to heavyweight division !

Ademak should do the re-match with Cunningham and depending on how that works out for him - make a decision about this next move after that. He stands to make some good money from the re-match.

The Heavyweight Division is going to be nothing but trouble for him anyway - imo.

 

I'm not crazy about the idea, either. Main Events is prob pushing this issue. If Adamek can win against a Chambers or Barrett, theres more $ to be made in a higher profile HW division.

He can beat those guys. Adamek is actually taller than Chambers, who is 6'-1", with a 75" reach. Barrett is 6'-3", 78" reach. We saw what happened when Chambers schooled

It could be very interesting, along with incredible excitement for Adamek fans. Just imagine if Adamek get a shot at Wlad & chops him down? It wouldn't be easy, but it could happen!

And what if David Haye calls him out? See what I mean about excitement?

Like I said before...Adamek would box circles around the likes of Chagaev tomorrow. So if TA thinks he can do this, we have to be behind him 100%.

I rate adamek and he will be more successful than Haye will be at hw. He's got power, heart. solid chin and underrated skills. However, he definitely needs to work on his defense at the next level to maximize his success. Can't let hws hit you at will.

Adamek vs. Chambers/Povetkin would be very interesting. Maybe Adamek can get that fraud Valuev in the ring. Would love to see him clown that oaf.

 

Adamek will get beat up by the top HWs. He should fight Haye. That would a great fight while it lasted .

 

As a fan of Adamek, THIS IS A TERRIBLE DECISION!!!! He is not big enough for the heavyweight ranks. He can dominate at crusier and have a lot of big fights at that weight. He is not the same size as guys like the Klitschkos....I really hope this is just a ploy to leverage Hopkins in negotiations for a potential fight.

Adamek could make more money, have a longer career, and have a better chance at winning if he fights

1. Hopkins
2. RJJ-Lacy winner
3. rematch with Dawson
4. Haye (when he comes back down to crusier after getting smacked around by Vitali)
5. rematch with Cunningham

All of those are bigger and better fights than going to heavyweight and losing to some inferior fighter just because he is bigger than you.

Don't join that cemetery of lost crusierweights along with Jirov, Ice Cole, Orlin Norris, Gomez, and soon to be David Haye.

True but aside from the KLITS, he can have some success if he slighly improves his defense. The rest of the division isn't as imposing. he'd have a pretty good chance against Valuev though he'd probably need a ko to get a draw. I wouldn't be surprised if Vitali retired after retiring Haye and Arreola. There are some opportunities there for him.

 

Only problem is, Haye will not defeat Vitali. And if Adamek wins a few fights at HW, chances are he will get his shot vs Wlad. The thought scares me, but I must remain confident that Adamek will move like a rabbit to make the robot looks foolish & if he can find Wlads chin, it could be the biggest upset since Buster broke Tyson's bubble.

Hell yes it is a mistake. My take on this is that he will end up like Jirov. He will get beaten by a B HW. This might have something to do with Golota and him having words in the past. If he wants, let him test the water with Golota and if he loses then come back to CW. Still, I think it is a bad move career wise and health wise.

 

Also, I really think TA should rematch USS Cunn. Its only fair. I doubt Adamek is worried about that fight, since he dropped the guy 3 times. Maybe its Main Events thats worried. Looks like they are lovin' having Adamek as their new cash cow.

And don't forget, Cunningham is bigger than many HW's right now. And Adamek did a great job against him.

Jirov was odd. He was a world class cruiser who made the foray to heavy for no real reason. He got beat by an aged Moorer lost to Mesi and also struggled with a shot Orlin Norris. Prior to that he got handed a one sided box punching clinic by Toney. As Jirov moved up into some form of class he was exposed time and again. Im not sure if he's officially retired but i doubt well see him again.

 

I doubt Adamek has already made such a decision. He has just fought a week ago and is searching for a big money fight or a high profile fight that will make him better known in the US.

 

True. And he himself said after the Gunn fight that it will be next year before we see him at HW. This is just another article to create a buzz, thats all.
