Man, what a crazy step up in class for Ngoudjo's 12th pro fight. Easily his best opponent through Castillo.

Credit the kid for pulling himself up to finish on his feet. EA turned into a snarling beast there.

    LOVE that quote.

He's so happy thinking about it, he even sounds like a little kid saying it.

Wouldn't Augustus therefore have actually beaten Ward? How can he be indisputably better when he lost to him? I think you're underrating Gatti. Gatti had really good wins over Tracy Harris Patterson, Wilson Rodriguez, Gabe Ruelas, and Ward. Gatti was better than he gets credit for.

Augustus was world class, no doubt, but never did string together wins when he had the opportunity. For example: the classic fight with Ward, doesn't follow up but comes out and gets dominated by Dorin (granted that was a weight issue), big win over ranked Vilches, next fight dominated by Omar Weis, beat ranked Alex Trujillo, get DQ'd against old Tomas Barrientes next fight.

Yeah that is what happened when i showed the RJJ/Calzaghe fight at my house.

Put on the Ring fights of the year DVD earlier and watched the legendary Burton Vs Ward fight, what a scrap! Has anyone got the latest on him and his career?

Before he hangs them up, he deserves some kind of farewell fight on ESPN2. His fights really went a long way toward putting FNF on the map.

True, Augustus, Fres Oquendo and Glen Johnson are maybe the 3 most unlucky fighters in boxing.

I don't know about MOST unlucky, but I thought he beat Chris Byrd, I thought he completely dominated James Toney, and the Ruiz fight was very close with a bad stoppage (although he deserved whatever he got for that pathetic display). Then again, people say the same about JMM or Casamayor.
