calslappy's style was a lot more effective (and ugly as ****) than casa's. casa's the better technican.

Casamayor easly, if you compare their resumes you can see Casamayor is the better P4P.

I'm assuming you have no analytical skills then?

This is a technical thread to compare and contrast skill sets, natural & learned talent. - In other words P4P ability.

Not a fanboy thread about records, resume and accomlishments. If you wan't to start a thread about those issues, please go right ahead.

Calzaghe. He is such a unique fighter, in terms of pure p4p ability he was really something. Cassa is underrated though. Even in the Marquez fight before he got KO'd i had the bout as a draw going into that round.

I thought Casamayor was robbed in the Corrales rematch.

Well, he was 2-1 against Chico, and I don't think Casa was robbed, but he was certainly unlucky not to get the decision in the Corrales re-match, not to mention against Freitas and especially Castillo.

If he had 'won' those fights, he would be held in higher regard than he is today.

This has to be a joke. Casamayor will not be remembered 10 - 15 years from now IMO. In contrast, JC's legacy will increase over time. 10 years from now, some welsh or brits might even have him as their GOAT whereas not even Casamayor's kids will rank him within top 100 P4P.

    1. I was thinking the same thing about this post. I asked about P4P ability, not legacy.

    2. Welsh ARE Brits.

:dealthe simple fact is as great as Casa is, he lost it some his most important, career defining fights. It's a blessing and a curse he fought in one of the most stacked 130/135 eras ever but his losses do count against him. He was slick, with great defense, BRUTAL power and a tremendous beard. But his losses (including the gift draw against Kid Diamond) hurt him.
