Would Hatton have made the final bell against Floyd if the fight had been at 140?

I doubt even Hatton's mother thinks he would've beaten Floyd if the fight had been at 140 - the gulf in class was painfully clear.

However, Hatton and everyone around him has always said he was far more comfortable and better at 140.

This is supported by Hatton's performances at 147 (v Floyd, v Collazo) compared to his performances at 140 (Tszyu, Malignaggi, Oliveira, Urango, etc etc).

If Hatton had fought Floyd at 140, would he still have been knocked out or would he have made it through those last rounds and to the scorecards?

If Cortez wasnt the ref and it was at 140, yep.

If Cortez wasnt the ref when they fought he would have made the final bell.

After Cortez deducted the point was when Ricky completely imploded, before that it was reasonably competitive

The 140 argument is ****. What he means to say when he says he's more comfortable at 140 is that he is more comfortable fighting smaller guys.. I hate when ****ers try and make out like they are being weighed down with bags of sand because they don't have to dehydrate at weigh-in. He comes in over 150 on fight night when he fights at 140 anyway.

I think he would have picked up a worse beating at 140. Yeah, he's not at his best at 147, but neither is Mayweather. Mayweather had more foot movement there and put combinations together.

Hatton looked great at 147? He slipped by Collazo barely and got knocked out. Whether that had anything to do with the weight or opponents or whatever. At 147 you could put up an argument he lost both fights.

Hatton was in great shape. He looked strong and was strong for that fight. He just wasted a lot of energy to get nothing done due to Floyd's skill and defense. Floyd let Hatton maul him at times and while Hatton was busy trying to get in position Floyd just was out manuevering him on some MMA type ****. You really have to give Floyd credit for his sneaky defensive roughhousing tactics. Hatton was confused as ****.

If...If...If my aunt had a dick she would be my uncle...Floyd would have mopped the floor with his ass no matter who was reffing, or the weight class.

Nope. Hatton is the better at 140 pounds but so was Mayweather. Mayweather had more pops to his punches at 140 pounds with better combination along with better speed.
