That might be true . . . but that's bad for his own good. See? He can't get any fight. And clearly . . . part of it, is him having a useless promoter. What ever it is . . . it will remain as a discussion in all forums but not in the record books. :deal
For the second time Goosen has managed to **** up a possible Pavlik/Williams fight with his ridiculous monetary demands. Last year Goosen screwed things up by accepting an offer of $1.25 million, and then after Arum told HBO it was a done deal, Gossen came back and demanded $1.4 million. HBO and Bob Arum told him to **** off. The news just came out that two weeks ago he screwed things up again by demanding a 50/50 split. I like Williams, but he is not a big enough draw to demand 50/50 from the middleweight champion of the world, and Goosen knows that. I think the whole Pavlik/Williams, Arum/Goosen situation provides insight into why it's hard for Paul to get fights.
I think paul should stay away from 147, its not healthy for him to fight their, also he comes off looking like a complete *****(fighting smaller men). Lets be honest he belongs at middle.. he would kick pavliks ****ing ass. Man pavlik has to be one of the worst champs of our era atsch
His management has been making poor decissions . . . he should stick to 154 or 160. Make one sacrifice fight to get a belt or title then he can negotiate well for his next fight. Problem is his team is already insisting for a big purse . . . just like they screwed possible Pavlik fight. The guy holds the Ring belt, the WBO and WBC titles . . . there's no way that team Pavlik will give them 50/50. They should have negotiated for 55/45 52/48 or what ever. Bottom line if he wins . . . he is an instant linear champ and his next fights could be bigger.
Why should he fight Clottey ? Clottey lost his last fight. So Williams should take a step back and fight a loser ? Williams has called out all of the Welter weights. When he couldn't get a fight there he moved up. He won a title and junior middle weight and moved up again. He has always maintained that his weight is 147 lbs. Margarito turned down a rematch with Williams not the other way around.
I remember when Margarito beat the crap out of Williams, blood everywhere, but Williams refused to give him a rematch.
What you guys are really tripping hard. Man it is so much haters out there and on this site for Paul Williams. How can you be a fan of boxing and dislike Paul. And to all you critics here is some facts for you. Paul moved up in weight so the fight could go down between him and Pavlik. Once Paul moved up in weight Pavlik:bbb ran and moved up in weight to Supposedly.....note i said (supposed) to be washed up B-HOP. An easier fight so he thought but end up gettin his ace tore out the frame. So who's running then and whos still running now. It's casper the GHOST> LMFAO
No one wants any of PTP. And im tired of that "he should be a middle weight" ****! He fights at 147 cause he can and im sure if those middle weights could make 147 they would and try to get the big fights...but they cant and he can. Him fighting at 147 is no different than Diego Corrales(RIP) fighting at light weight and being six feet tall. if you can be the freak of the division you should.
I agree 100%. But one thing i noticed on here it doesnt matter how many links or how much facts and statistics you have up here. There are so many haters out there on Paul The Punisher Williams. For what??? For the fact they all know and feel he can take over not 1, not 2, and not 3, but 4 weight divisions and hold it down. All he need is 1 big break and its on. Good post cuzzin.
