He is talking sense, i mean Calzaghe didnt even turn pro til he was 23 and although cleverly is starting to look good, Calzaghe at that stage in his career was far ahead in terms of skill, speed and stamina. Cleverly knackered himself out in the Mckintosh fight despite winning each round and I think he should work on that before taking a World champion 12 rounds.

Nathan should be clever ( thats right i sed it ) and should stick to defending his british title and if he gets bored take on euro level then maybe an IBO, IBA, WBU world title before attempting for a WBO, WBA, WBC or IBF.

As for Enzo hes just not the same fighter anymore and after recent losses i think hes lost his confidence and his heart is out of it. Bad things happening to a great guy, he honestly should stop before he gets hurt

good interview from Calzaghe - but he didnt really address the issue of why Enzo Maccarinelli had lost it. He lost it specifically in the David Haye fight where he was smashed to bits inside 2 rounds. Since then he has had a farcial win against jorneyman Matthew Ellis and then has been knocked out twice. It looks like Haye destroyed Enzo Maccarinelli both physically in the ring and mentally in the long run.

as for Nathan Cleverly - Calzaghe is spot on - he is 22 years old and there shoudl be no rush to a world title fight. Its easy to look at a 20 year old Mike Tyson or a 21 year old Naseem Hamed and a 22 year old Amir Khan winning world titles but they are the exceptions to the standard. Most fighters are not ready for world title fights at such a young and tender age. Joe Calzaghe himself didnt win his WBO World title until he was 25 years old - thats a much more realistic target for Nathan Cleverly to try and emulate. Take his time and by the time he is 25 years old - then he could be ready for a proper world title challenge for a decent belt.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING! **** those trinkets.

If he wants to step up then he can face some contenders, eliminators etc Please don't make those belts sound like part of the process. You've been conned cos Hatton, Enzo etc did it.

It is a shame that in boxing guys think they should retire after a few losses.

Enzo needs to get his act together and work his trade hard.

For all those who think Calzaghe will make a comeback just look at the video provided at the start of this thread! He' put on a bit of weight, is relaxing, probably doing as he pleases in life, so there will be no comeback! I doubt joe has the required desire to train to the extent a comebakc would warrant!

Joe talks a lot of sense in respect of both Macca & Cleverly! One cannot deny that Enzo has seen much better days than recent times & that his best period as a boxer was around the Braithwaite win! Enzo Calzaghe is Joe's father & I respect anyone who defends their parents! We can't knock Joe for doing so!

Upon seeing that video, I don't think its beyond the realms of possibility that we will see Macca reunited with Enzo Calzaghe! Stranger things have happened!
